HELP Choosing a Bissell Carpet Washer - Desperate!

Hi, am desperately trying to find the right Bissell carpet washer for me and just when I think I've found one another get thrown into the mix or I find a not so good review.
I have 1 puppy which will be a large dog, 2 cats, a mucky husband (and hopefully a baby soon so it's got to do a real good job of cleaning mud, dirt, foot prints, puppy accidents, dog chews, cat/dog/baby sick etc. I'd like it to be easy to clean parts/filters, relatively easy to lift (up stairs), easy to fill/empty, must have stairs/upholstery tool (or additional extra) and doesnt leave carpets soaking wet.
Price wise no more than £200 (am open to reconditioned models to keep the price low).
I have been looking at (can get all of these under £200):
AromaPro
PowerWash ProHeat
Proheat 2X
ReadyDry Surface Cleaner
Updated
For lightweight purposes anyone have or used a QuickWash
What does everyone/anyone have and what does everyone/anyone recommend?
All advice welcome!!

I've just ordered this one from Comet:
http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/product/523380/BISSELL-79T3E-READYDRY
I've no idea how good it is as it hasn't been delivered yet, but I thought it was a fantastic price. Don't forget to enter the code on the page to get an additional 10% off. Here I go again on my own....0 -
hi becles, yes that IS a fantastic price :T, usually well over £200. please let me know what you think when you get it0

I bought a Bissell Proheat a few years ago. It cost £210 but I split the cost with my mum and sister - so £70 for a 3rd of a share, which is fine as we all live close to each other.
It does a great job but it is pretty heavy.0 -

how easy and how do you go about cleaning this? does it have to be unscrewed to get to the parts that need cleaning?0 -
i am sorely tempted by the ready dry, especially at comet's fantastic price, HOWEVER, i cannot see how a roller will get as deep a clean as brushes! any ideas?0

^^^ ditto! The proheat is pretty much the same.
So glad you posted first, Andrew.0 -
I've got the Proheat, and discovered a quick way of cleaning the clear bit on the front. Just get a washing-up bowl with a couple of inches of clean water in it, lift the machine up into the bowl, then suck up the clean water. Alternatively, if you've got a tiled floor somewhere, just tip some clean water onto the floor then suck it straight back up.
You still need to take off the plastic cover every so often to give it a really good clean, but this method is good for rinsing out the worst of the muck after each use, and means it needs a good de-gunge much less often.0 -
the proheat and aromapro sound pretty much the same. thanks for the cleaning info andrew-b that really made it sound clear as mud and actually fairly painless! still really stuck with a sore brain of what one to go for! went round a few shops over weekend but much to my surprise bissell isnt too widely stocked and in the odd place or two that does they dont have a very big selection. did see the readydry although am still unsure how much of a deep clean a roller will do in comparison with brushes. am kinda wavering between proheat 2x and aromapro0

My Ready Dry came :j I cleaned the en-suite bathroom and my little girls bedroom with it.
On the bits where it was just generally grubby with mild strains, just going over with the machine was fine and it did dry within 30 minutes. There were some wee stains on my daughters carpet and round the toilet in the en-suite (husband can't aim!), and I had to use the on board stain tool. That made the carpet a little wetter, so those patches took a couple of hours to dry. I did go over those bits a few times with the tool with no spray to suck out as much liquid as I could.
We've got the same carpet going from the bedroom into the en-suite and you can tell the bathroom has been cleaned and the bedroom hasn't (yet!).
The tank's for liquid are quite small so you'll need to empty and top up frequently. The plus side is that it makes the unit lighter to use. It's lighter to carry up stairs than a Hoover one I used to have.
Overall I'm really happy with it, and would recommend it.Here I go again on my own....0
