We went to Sherwood a couple of weeks ago, and have been there for the last 3 years. The prices had increased from our previous stays. The only restaurant we found good value for money was the pancake house. The Italian was awful. We complained about the food in the sports cafe and got a full refund. I must admit this most recent visit was the most disappointing of all our visits.0

Thanks for the tip. Fortunately, I have booked from 6pm for two days, although I have booked from 3 pm for the last day due to the fact that is the day we leave.pudding wrote:The spa is really nice..I did this a couple of weeks ago at sherwood forest as a day visitor as it was 2 for 1.. £40 for 2 of us for 3 hours with wine and cheese...It was really nice and relaxing...It was very busy at 4pm when we arrived..Your better off going after 5 then most people have gone for their teas..That's if you are going in the afternoon..It's great you will enjoy it....0 -
We have been most years and have noticed a steady decline in value and standards.
The last time we got over £500 vouchers for meals etc. If you are not happy complain you spend enough on it. In the end we could just walk into the sauna as the heating kept packing up. OH loved it as it was HOT!
The main benefit of SF over WF is you can swin outside at night at SF. Great if there is a frost!
We did have a good meal at one eating house for about £9 a head.
Take plenty of nuts and bird food and the wildlife will give you hours of fun. Take your own bikes if you can
Must try over the sea one year. The measure of love is love without measure0 -

Just got back from Whinfell forest..
Two evacuuations of the village centre ( fire alarms) during the weekend. Saturday night it happened about 10pm . Many used it as an excuse not to return to the restaurants to pay the bill. But the restaurants all take your villa number when you first order now.
Centre Parcs are not supposed to take stag or hen parties. But whilst in the disco sat night there was a very large stag party ( announced by the DJ) .
Strangely the bars shut at 11pm on Fri night but were still open after 1am the following night ( Rock legends and the disco in the Green Room)..
Its the first time i have been and seen any nightlife. Its usually totally dead at night.0 -
Sorry to raise an old thread, but I have just returned from my Center Parcs break at Longleat Forest which I booked after getting a £100 voucher posted on this site.
I would like to post a thanks to "allIcouldwishfor" for bringing the discount to my attention as I have just had the best break ever (or at least for the past 6 years!)
We took our bikes which made it much more fun and saved the excessive walking around that would have been necessary to appreciate the whole park. I am not fit by any stretch of the imagination and haven't cycled for years, but I found it fairly easy and great fun.
Admittedly all the events and facilities (except the main pool) is extra, but the villa was incredibly well equipped with a TV in the bedroom as well as the lounge with a good selection of channels beyond the norm (Sky One, CBeebies, E4, etc). I was particularly impressed with the maid service provided every day (they did all my washing up for me!) and the helpfulness and politeness of all the staff.
The villa was deep in the forest, peaceful with the sounds of nature (a deer fed outside on our patio every morning) and really comfortable.
I found one particular restaurant (Grand Cafe) that provided excellent food (average £15 per head, so not cheap), but all the restaurants were varied and served excellent food.
I highly recommend it and not just for families either, as i don't have children and went just as a couple. But from what I could tell it was very child friendly as well.
If anyone is curious and wants more details please PM me.0 -
Just returned from Centerparcs, Sherwood and we were quite disappointed with the customer service levels overall. Visited this particular Parc on about six previous occaisons, all of which have been excellent, however on this occasion staff seemed glum and did not seem to care what level of service they provided (apart from Pamela in the Country Club and the lady in the italian on our last evening, both of which were really helpful).
I hope they improve the customer service levels as this detracted from an otherwise good holiday. There's no woman sicker than the woman who is sick on her day off !0 -
Helen, sorry about that. We went just before Easter and the only miserable staff we encountered were a couple at the booking office in the Sports Hall one day. I think they do get a lot of temporary staff though so maybe you were just unlucky!
I was really impressed I dropped my little girl off for a session at the creche and they remembered us from when we came in October. Hopefully it was because she had been a little angel, not a little devil lol!0 -
We're going in a couple of weeks to Elvedon and staying in a 4 bedroom Comfort Villa. Could anybody tell me if there will be a freezer in the kitchen as we would like to take lots of food?
Ta0 -
There's usually just a small freezer box in the top of the fridge - enough for a few ice-cubes but that's about it, sorry!0
