wow....that beef in gravy was a good one.... i wish or even hope they will do something like that again.....

i will be venturing to the new tescos next week, i have had an internet order this week, so will see what it is like.....

also carl, i have now tranfered my hubby's credit card bal to the tesco credit card, and put my club card no. on it....silly question but do you know if we will get club card points for the bal that will have transfered.? the credit card is in my hubby's name, but with me as an extra user....
the main reason is it was 0 % on transfer of bal until jan 07, honestly didnt think we would get it, i know we would not have had it on my one.

I don't think you get points for balance transfers, well,i KNOW you don't get them.
If you need advice on credit cards,i would visit the credit card board on this forum,i got advice on there when i first started in Jan 2005,and it has saved me a fortune in interest payments, you need to know the rules, then use them to your advantage,e.g if you do a balance transfer at 0% onto a card,if you then go and purchase on the same card, they sometimes charge you different interest rates when the introductory offer comes to an end, just read the terms and conditions.
I have got several 0% cards at the moment,as i transfered my car loan onto the 0% cards to save £3000 in interest alone! it takes some organizing, and if you make a mistake with the timing of payments etc,the card company will punish you,so you have to be diligent! i do the balance transfer at 0%,then cut the card up as soon as i receive it,so there is no possibility of spending on it,I do ALL my spending on the Tesco card, which i now pay off in full every month,it wasn'y always like that though! and,i always cancel the old credit cards when they have been used,as this reduces the amount of available credit you have,so it looks better when it comes to applying for another one next time. One of the first things i did initially, was to send for my credit report (£2) to see all the credit i had, just to make sure everything was in order.I would really spend time reading the credit card forum.
Sorry to go on,but it is one of the best things i have ever done.

hi.. thanks...i know it is totally going off thread, but i signed up for the free 30 days trial with experian, so that's why i know why my i got refused for a 0 % c.c. all my real bad debt happened about 6 years ago, so by january, they should be knocked off my report, so hopefully next year i can try and build on that...i read so much about the cash back c.cards where people actually earn money from their cards etc., but at least with the tesco one now its a start in the right direction, i have one credit card thats 27 % which when you are desperate you sign up to anything, but listening to martin i am now doing the shuffle, and upped my overdraft to pay as much as i can off the card, which is now down to £500. when thats paid off then i start on my barclycard. at 17 %
as the big jobs around the house have now got to critical, i.e wooden windows now totally rotten, kitchen falling to bits etc.,
thats why i am now looking forward to next year, this year concentrate on the debt, but also pave the way to an easier 2007 with the tesco deals, and a hopefully a better credit rateing to make money out of the type of companies that have made money out of me for years...

this is what i love about this website....its proper people with real experiences....i really do owe my sanity to this website...

i am just hoping that tescos in llansamlet do except money off coupons...as i have heard that some tescos are now refusing them....its just as it is a bigger store than pontardawe, there will be more choice.......but if they dont, well they dont.....

anyway sorry to all the people that are reading this and are expecting to read about tescos in llansamet...but needed to get that off my chest so to speak..

the money off coupons ...they are product money off coupons.. like huggies....pampers.....yorkshire tea bags etc., tescos will accept these money off coupons even though you havent bought the item....depending on the sa.... they will accept either all of them, or a percentage of your overall bill....
i have signed up to the pampers... and huggies club, and they give you a booklet of money off vouchers.....when you email companies for their samples and freebies, some of them send you money off coupons as well...
the most i have had excepted in one go is £16.00 so not bad.....
there are sites where you can print out the coupons...so you can have a unlimited amount, but i havent done this yet, as only this week i got new ink catridges for the printer, but i have read somewhere, depending on the sa again, whether they will take them or not....
i know those printable ones are being sold on ebay...,
thats why i have an interenet order when i have got a good code for points, and then i shop in store when i have money off coupons...so i win everytime as long as got coupons and codes of coarse....
well worth keeping an eye out for them, you can also get coupons in magazines and papers, which there is a thread everyday with people saying what is in each daily paper...
when i first started looking at this website i contacted someone on here, and they very kindly send me emails with links to loads of sites for freebies, and vouchers, if you would like me to send you them,, i will no probs, and youcan use them in tescos then......

That sounds interesting,i have never used these coupons before,so i might look into it.I do know that Tesco (Neath Abbey)are very fussy on the extra point coupons that i get sent with the clubcard mailing,so i didn't know they would take any money off stuff.

I thought i found a misprice at Llansamlet last night, cushions marked at £6,but sel at £3,so i put 4 in my trolley, luckily i found the barcode scanner on the way round, but they scanned at £3,so i put them back, nevermind!

i have asked this question in the main voucher/point thread, but maybe someone reading this might know...

i have seen in tescos that you can now use you point card as a christmas savers club card as well, so you can put money into it...

do you know if this would then convert to the 4 x deal

e.g if i put £10.00 on the card , would it then convert to £40.00 in deals.?
or would it be a seperate...statement.?

any thoughts ? i might do that and wait until christmas and see what happens...as at the end of the day i still got my £10.00 to spend in store..

as if this did happen it would be one hell of a good loophole/deal
but know in my luck...i'm getting to carried away in trying to find a good loophole....

well i have actually been to the new tescos in llansamlet and its huge.....to big really.... you need to take a packed lunch with you..as you are there for ages......i dont think i will be going there regular.......rather my smaller tescos.......even though they run out of stuff quickly......plus i know if i find a spotty...uninterested...i dont want to be here....type of kid.... they take all the money off vouchers..i give them..... so i will stick to my internet order when i get a good 1000 point code....and my weekly shop for fresh stuff etc....at my local tesco.....and use those lovely money off vouchers.......that save me a fortune..............

    happy shopping everyone................

hi chelle333 thanks for that info... i didnt bother afterwards...as i phoned tescos club card and they told me...pitty though as that would have been a nice little loophole.......as money is very tight at the mo.....i am shopping in store at the mo....no interenet orders...as i need the savings now....so on the search for money off vouchers.....as the ones that i have had are only one per household, and i have used up relatives addresses now........

    happy shopping ..................
