Hi, I'm pretty new to mobiles (I've had 2 over the last 5 years however I only keep them for emergencies), now I saw some posts which sound great, i.e. you claim on certain months, so in the end the annual cost can end up being free or very low, this sounds great but, am I missing something?, there must be some catch I'm thinking!, I mean beside the obvious one of you forgetting to claim is there anything else I should be looking at, also if for example you do a deal with E2save and the contract runs out, can you do a similiar deal with the same company next year?.
I mean I dont really use my phone that much to make calls but those new handsets are really tempting me
Thx!

No catches if you use a reputable company (Dialaphone, E2save, The Link etc). I can refer you if you like ? You just have to be very disciplined in remembering when to send your bills/vouchers to claim the cashback. Set up reminders on your phone/pc etc. Read the T&C's carefully so you don't fall foul of them.
Now on my fourth year contract and have never had even the slightest of hassle claiming my cashback.
And yes, you can do multiple deals year after year after year.
EDIT : Commenced a new contract yesterday with the Link/3 giving me a Nokia N70 giving me 600 anytime/any network mins + 400 texts per month for an average of approx £5.50pm after cashback0 -
            Exel,
Can you post a link to the deal you've got?
I have been with dialaphone for a couple of contracts now. I've only had problems associated with admin mishaps, not deliberate actions to aviod paying IMO.
A good tip is to leave yourself plenty of time before deadlines, claiming as soon as you can, so that you have time to wait then contact the company if you hear nothing.

Hugo, I'm afraid that particular deal was only on offer for a couple of days and has since gone. A number of us here managed to get the deal before it was closed fortunately. Usually these kind of offers will not be around for very long. I would advise checking ON A DAILY BASIS all the websites of the companies I mentioned earlier.0

As above, no catches really - the retailer gets paid big comission for selling a mobile to you, but to sell more, they give part of the comission back to you = more sold!!!
Just make sure you use a reputable company because the unheard of ones have a habit of going bust or doing a runner with the cashback and there is no comeback!!
I have a Nokia 7600 with Carphone Warehouse for £2.99 a month after cashback a while back. I never went over my free mins / texts so it cost me £36 for the year and then I sold the phone for £50 too!!!

Which companies in your opiion would you say are reputable? I would second your opinion about Dialaphone.

I personally would only use Dialaphone, The Link and E2Save and OSPS, the latter two being part of the CarPhoneWarehouse. The only one I've not used is personally is OSPS, but I'd be willing to give them a go based upon the feedback I've read and heard.
A quick search on this forum will certainley tell you which ones to avoid at all costs.0 -
            Dialaphone - I agree.

Whatever you do, please don't use OSPS. Even though Carphone Warehouse has a stake in them they are not in the same class as CW or E2Save.com. You have only a remote chance of getting the promised cashback. There is a thread on this forum about them http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=102174&page=1&pp=10&highlight=onestopphoneshop0 -
i have used dial a phone and everthing went well, I'm currently using phonebox direct which has so far been faultless (so far have claimed back£189 on a 3 contract which will end up being free for 500 mins & 100 txt a month) and I claimed points through rpoints and refered half the family so a right result.
I would never pay for a mobile contract whilst these deals are around, I would not even go back to payg, why pay a little when you can pay sweet fa.0
