We would love to have the eldest or any of them to live with us but we live in essex and they are in the Midlands so it means them leaving their college/school/friends etc. The eldest who would benefit the most from living with us has a girlfriend who he has been seeign for 3 years now and wont leave her.
It is so tough as we do get on very well with the ex and all of the boys hence why we take them all and her away on hols and weekends out etc btu she is making it very difficult for the eldest. I think it maybe because he is like my husband but also now she cant manioulate him and he has his own mind now that also does help their relationship.
We have told the younger brother he can come on holiday but he wont now sadly. I am not sure if he ever would of done anyway by what he has said as again i dont think he will leave his mum even tho he is 15! This is the kinda hold she has on them
Thank you for all your replies we are not perfect and make mistakes but we genuinely want whats best for these boys and dont expect them to be perfect but would just like to see them in school going to lesson and completing their education for their own sake. All 4 are very clever boys and have lots of potential.Member of Thrifty Gifty ~ Making money for Christmas 2010:£2 Savers club member no 40 ~ £54Amazon Vouchers BingoPort ~ £10Dooyoo Challenge Jan ~ £24.07 / £20.00 Yippee over target :j0 -
from a legal perspective - then as your husband is the 17 year old's parent, there is no offence of child abduction (this only applies to children under 16). If she wanted to stop him going she would have to go to court and get a Prohibited Steps Order - which, she is highly unlikley to succeed in getting as he is 17 and wants to go and there is no reason for him not to. You can only get orders for children over 16 in exceptional circs

If you were planning on taking the 2 younger ones away when you are back in the UK perhaps you could take the boy who is not going on holiday with you as well.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:
