I emailed Future as I still have not received my free gift from about 4 months agao That I have been constantly emailing them about.

I also emailed National as I was cancelling my subscription to She after 6 months.

Here is the identical responce I got from both companies who must be in some way connected:

"Our records show that on many occasions in the past you have ordered magazine subscriptions and subsequently cancelled them. In some cases these subscriptions have been offered with free gifts that have been sent out in good faith. We are happy to accept subscription orders from you if these are placed in good faith, but cannot process them with any free gifts or accept any cancellations or refund requests for active subscriptions without you first returning any free gifts provided with the subscription. The gifts must be unused and undamaged.

I trust this has clarified the situation."

Looks like they are onto us guys.....

I have emailed them both back to explain that I have done nothing wrong since there was no minimum term stated in the terms & I was merely exploiting a loophole in their subscriptions.

I also find it strange that I get the exact same email from both companies. They must all be working together.
  • Hello all, I'm new to this magazine lark so could do with some advice. My first one was Ideal Home with quidco ( magazine group) was 3 issues for £1. I've only received one issue so far and my next DD is due out on 7th October. When should I cancel, any suggestions?
After reading the offers I've now signed up to Easy Living 3 for £1 plus a free gift.I think I'm going to enjoy doing this as I love magazines anyway, but my question is do I have to cancel with the company, or shall I just cancel my direct debit before the 3 months is up? Do you get any hassle from the companies if you just do it that way?

Grateful for any advice, and happy mag reading!

bump! I've cancelled the ideal home one now anyway but could do with some advice regarding the others.....thanks

Gerry, you are making this far more complicated than it needs to be (and are potentially having arguments with publishing compnaies that are just needless).

Don't contact the magazine company! Especially don't send them emails stating how you are taking advantage of loopholes......it's hardly going to endear them into helping you!:rolleyes:

Just cancel your DD with the bank. It's all you need to do.

Just cancel with your bank. If you have online banking, it's easy to action and check.

I've never cancelled with the magazine company directly and have never had any problems.

Has this happened to anyone else and if so how do I get round it as want to get back into it after a little break?

    Thank you in advance
