can anyone tell me the cheapest way to phone a mobile phone in turkey please.
i am on a virgin phone package.
i have called them and they have added 'call internationl' to my package so all my land line to mobile will cost approx 35pence a minute.
is there a cheaper way?
i have tried skype but the quality of the calls are terrible.
any help welcomed thanks:j

The cost to you is the same as if it were here. The owner of the phone there gets changed more for receiving the call.
Sorry, just seen the error in that reply. Do you mean its a Turkish mobile ?0 -

According to the MSE International Callchecker, the cheapest "just dial" (i.e. no account needed - it's charged to your phone bill just like any other phone call) is Bestminutes at 4ppm.
http://callchecker.moneysavingexpert.com/intcallchecker/turkey-mobile
According to their website (https://www.bestminutes.co.uk), just dial 0844 428 28 28 and you will be prompted for the Turkish mobile phone number - and you'll be connected!0 -
Does your friend have access to a landline, to receive calls?
If so, you can call through Just-call for 2p a minute for you, and no cost to them.

Try Lebara mobile or Lycamobile. I think its 14p a minute and you dial direct. You also get cheap uk calls/texts.0

4p a minute is only from a BT Line. It will tell you that on the BestMinutes site
and it clearly says it on the Intl Call Checker page.
"Always double-check prices on providers websites before calling.Prices may vary from non-BT landlines"
Virgin do normally charge more then BT to call 0844 numbers.
(their charge you nearly 9p connection charge and nearly 7p a minute to call that number.)
For cheaper allround calls from a VM landline have a look at http://www.18185.co.uk/mobilerates.php you use it via the 0808 Freephone Number which is free to call from VM.
Or if you have a mobile you can call the geographical access number out of any inclusive minutes you might have.
You dont normally pay unless your connected, unlike 0844 numbers where you pay when you start hearing recorded announcement.
http://www.localphone.com/call/turkey is also worth a look at if you have inclusive uk landline or mobile minutes. 6.5p a min to a Turkish Mobile no connection charge.0 -

Be careful with this - I got caught out calling an 0208 number from my O2 mobile for calls to Turkey. I have loads of spare inclusive minutes so I thought I'd be okay. Turns out that it is classed as a gateway number, which is excluded from inclusive minutes by O2I'm a retired employment solicitor. Never had a problem with this particular number. Nor have a lot of other people.;)
If your that worried call the Freephone 0808 access number via this service http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/deals/cut-cost-0800-mobiles0 -
Thanks, I call from my landline now using 18185. Its easy as there is no gateway number, I just dial the prefix before the actual phone number and it goes straight through. I can't remember the cost at the moment, but it is about 8p a min.
I also use the 18185 number for sending texts from my pc to a turkish mobile - cost 3p a text, instead of something like 30p a text from my mobile (they are outside O2 inclusive text allowances)I'm a retired employment solicitor.
