Sorry to go a bit off topic, but can anyone tell me what the difference is between a Maclaren Quest Sport and the ordinary Maclaren Quest? Is it just the fabric colours?

I ask because the Sport was a Which? Best Buy in Feb, and they're about £89-99 most places, but kiddicare are selling a Quest (doesn't say Sport) for £69.99 instead of £99.99 & I was thinking of getting one as lots of you have said how good the quests are.

Also, there seem to be ones called the Quest Mod, and they seem to be in funky designs but the same price (£99.99) so that made me think the the name Sport is just a something to do with the colour.

from what i can see the only difference is that the sport version has a viewing panel in the back of the hood

and also the fabric colours / design as you say

we have the pewter check one from kiddicare and paid £69.99 its fab :)

Thanks! That's the one I was thinking of getting. I've been using an M&P pliko pramette till now with my 7 month old, and that is great but I think I need something a little smaller & lighter for holidays & trips on the bus.

when i was looking i got the impression that the 'mod' etc. refers to the colours. they seem to change them every year, in feb-ish, even if there's nothing different about the pram itself. my techno xt has a viewing panel in the hood but my baby is 8 months old, usually isitting upright in it and i have used the viewing panel once in the 6 weeks i've had it, when he was lying flat asleep. but i'm not used to having a panel so i just lean over to look at the baby anyway. i think you could manage okay without a viewing panel. can't remember the other reasons for me choosing the techno xt, maybe it was the suspension, reflective stripes etc. but most probaby it was for the sun visor that flips down from the hood - it doesn't work as well as i thought it would and we still need a parasol, although maybe if you had a newborn baby laid flat then the sun visor would shade it sufficiently. when baby is sitting upright it is as much use as a chocolate fireguard. i have the handles high (111 cm i think it is) because my husband is tall. the pram itself doesn't look any bigger or more comfortable than the cheaper quest etc. models i tried in mothercare, they all looked really good.

What do you guys think :D :j
  • The third one will be the easiest to steer around shops/other flat surfaces, because it has the swivel wheel.

The second one will look nice and traditional with your newborn in it.

    Thanks frosty,

i'm still not too sure on these 3 wheeled things though

by the look of them all though they will last me untill he's a toddler, and they're a hell of a lot cheaper than in the shops.

dont know if this helps cullumpster, in my local post office the other day there is an ad on the wall selling a new unwanted pram from newborn + £50 which i think was a hauck, if you want i could get the details tomorrow 4 you, as you are not far away from me it might save you a tidy sum

i like the look of the 2nd one best but swivel wheels will be easier to manage in shops etc
