May 15th-ish for 7 days to sun!

Hi all,

I need some help. Myself and my partner would like a week in the sun (as we had snow here the other day - Aberdeen) from the week beginning 15th May.

We don't care where we go as long as it is sunny, relatively nice and will have some things to do both in the day and in the evenings.

We want to keep it cheap, our budget for flights and accomodation (all inclusive would be better but we'll consider anything) inc transfers etc, is 500 pounds.

Can anyone suggest? We've tried teletext holidays, but we're finding that a lot of the prices aren't actually the real deal and they are actually more expensive. (one by 100 pounds difference)

We will fly from anywhere in Scotland!

Thanks!

  • Hi.

Dont know if this helps but here goes.

We booked a holiday for 18 May for 7 nights, which consists of BA flights from LGW to Hurghada, and seven nights AI 5* for £420 per person based on 2 per room, all booked through expedia (used quidco to get some cashback on that!). The hotel is the SolyMar Star Spa, which if you look at the reviews on tripadvisor, gets straight 5 star reviews.

I bet BA connecting flights wouldnt be too much on top of that. Just an idea, or at least a starter for ten!
  • hi! thanks very much for that. Unfortunately we're looking for something a little cheaper - 500 for both was more where we were going :-/

Rachael is a student and i'm self employed, and we're only 21 and 23 so it's really just a break somewhere sunny for very cheap - we're away later in the year.

Thanks though, we appreciate your help and perhaps that site will throw up some other ideas.

    Hotels
Quick look on medhotels.com but there are other sites that are often cheaper - tons of availabiltiy with prices for 4* around or under £300. eg
Ola Maioris (Majorca) - in El Arenal - around 16km from airport so taxi will be cheap. This works out at £341 for the 2 of you, all inclusive for the week.

You may be able to get this cheaper elsewhere - or do cashback through quidco or similar (I think medhotels attracts 5% cashback). Including the cashback, total comes to just over the £500 but is all inclusive so very little need to spend once you are there.

Alternatively, self-catering option - Sol Lunamar Apartments 4* in Porto Nuevo, 7 nights 13th May - 20th May = £189 for the 2 of you. Agin this is less than 20km from airport so taxi will be cheap.

lol - just an example! Saying that if all you want is a bit of sun, and are capable of getting on a bus to somewhere half decent, then its not the end of the world. :o
