• The watch should not be facing the wrong way.

I guess you need to position it somehow!!

Split the difference, either 3 o'clock or 9 o'clock to the window.

My watch must've been based on an older design. Kinda reminds me of the way car manufacturers keep swapping the orientation of the levers behind the wheel...

Problem solved. Have had a new battery installed and watch is now keeping the correct time. Thanks to all.
