Why, when I am on this particular site (I haven't noticed this problem anywhere else) does the page not scroll smoothly when I use the mouse wheel?
I am using XP home (SP2) & Opera v8.54

It means that you could try IE or firefox & if it works OK on one of those then you know its a browser problem your end or something.
Besides it seems to be more helpful then anyone else has been so far

I'm sure it's the ticker at the top left of the screen. I use Konqueror and also only get the problem on this site. Try disabling JS and then reloading the page, if it worke fine then you have your problem.
From what I remember, F12 is the shortcut key to Opera's quick-prefs menu so you can quickly enable and disable things without titting around in options dialogues.

Aaagghhhh! WHAT ticker, I've never seen one on this site!! :eek:I only exist in my own mind - if you can see, hear or read me, you are a product of my imagination.0

Thanks Amos, The disable Java bit didn't make a diffrence, but when I checked the "Identify as Opera" (as opposed to IE) bit, it seemed to do the jobWomen priests. Great. Now there's priests of both sexes I don't listen to - Bill Hicks.0

Changing your user agent may cause the site to serve you with different ticker code maybe?0 -

I think it may be to do with Opera's rendering engine. How fast is your machine? I get the same thing at work (Celeron 2.4Ghz) but not quite as much on my ADM64 3500+ with GeForce 6800GT.
It's been like that since I switched to Opera (v8.50). I believe it's sorted in the to be v9.0. I tried v9.0 TP2 a few weeks back and it was fine. It's due for release in June.
I only seem to get it on this site, and more so in the forums. I think it's down to a combination of inefficient rendering, and poor coding (this site isn't exactly efficient or light)."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0 -
