Free virgin media freedom laptop

Has anyone contacted virgin regarding this deal it sounds good but wondered about the downside and wonder if i would lose my loyalty bonus.
Any help would be grateful.

The deal requires a 24month contract - but how often do you change home phone provider anyway?

At the moment, they are trying to suss out the cheapest way of obtaining the netbook if you're an existing customer.

What gives you the idea its FREE?

The cheapest bundle is £20 a month for the first 3 months, then £29 a month.

Then you need a Virgin Phone line for £11 a month,all on a 24-month contract.

Total expenditure at least £933.

The Virgin Media Freedom netbook is, as you’d probably expect, pretty similar to a lot of the netbooks currently available in the ever-expanding market. That means a fairly sizeable 10.2-inch screen, a 1.60GHz N270 Intel Atom processor 120Gb Hard Drive and 1GB of RAM, and it runs Microsoft Windows XP.

Elsewhere, the Virgin Media Freedom also boasts a webcam, a two-in-one card reader and 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi. The battery’s not so good, unfortunately, with a quoted time of 2.5 hours of ’standard’ use. Compare that to the Asus Eee PC 1101HA’s 10.5 hour battery life and it’s no contest really.

Weighing 1.1kg and measuring just 26mm thick, the Virgin Media Freedom is the company’s first ever netbook (and has a value of £300) and is apparently geared up for Virgin Media’s 50MB broadband service. It’ll be offered up for free when customers sign up for a two year contract on both fixed line and mobile broadband products. Oh and you’ll also get a Virgin Media wallpaper and screensaver. Nice.

You also get a free Netgear WGR614 wireless router and can get a Virgin Mobile 1Gb dongle included and for little extra for when you're out and about.
