Boots Thread??

An additional note - I noticed Liverbird has thanked Andrea for closing the grabbit thread and she is one of the mods on the existing boots proboard. Last time I heard that proboard wasn't accepting new members. As the mse Boots grabbit is closed they might be willing to allow new members again. If anyone from the boots proboards is reading this thread may be they could ask one of the mods if they will accept new members and if anyone wants to join how they can do that. Or if the board is full just put a quick post on here saying that. I've seen some names on here for as long as I've been reading the boots thread such as balletshoes so it would be nice for them to be allowed there. To be honest I can't manage more that one forum so I'll have to stick with whats posted on mse, I'm just looking to help others get access if it's at all possible.

Really gutted haven't posted on thread that much but do try to read 2/3 times a week , really enjoyed reading all the chat, but noticed quite a few of the old names weren't posting that much. It is a real shame, I've been able to get some bargains over the last few months and will miss it all being in one place.

If a proboard is set up only the members registered there will be able to see the bargains posted on there and the many mse who only read the Boots grabbit thread will miss out on these, there are many lurkers who just like to read about bargains but not post. The last trouble on the grabbit pages as far as I'm aware was when someone complained about not being allowed on a the boots proboard that is already set up.

Andrea isn't saying that Boots bargains can't be posted she is just asking for more work as she is asking people to set up a new thread when they spot a bargain or a glitch. Just over the last few days I've seen

.... reductions on bath and shower products
....get the NO7 watch without spending £22
....Nivea bargain on .com £56.?? worth of product from .com with gwp for only £16.??
....reduced no7 lip gloss
....naked body butter for 1.50 and BOGOF

that would be 5 new threads just off the top of my head just from the last few days so there would be even more threads for the mods to monitor but that is what Andrea is asking for.

I don't want to see the end of the grabbit thread but keeping it positve the bargains can still be posted for all to find, it's just going to be a case of reading lots of threads. The posting of the nargains can go ahead if I've read Andrea's post correctly. The only thing that is to change is lots of threads and they won't be a sticky.

The lurker and new feet point is good, but the new mse model will not work to full capacity as through discussion n reports many many ideas and directives emerge............

Thanks for your post MSE Andrea. Whilst it is certainly a loss to alot of us more seasoned 'bootsers' and of course to the newer bootsers, I can completely see your stance and understand it and of course completely respect it. I am sure that it was not an easy decision, but it seems it has been a long time coming and you have had a lot of patience with thread and I'm sure whilst being a bit miffed all of us understand fully. There were 2 proboards set up in recent times.

The first was always intended to be private as it was for a group of people who considered themselves friends

The second was offered to all, but then it was made private




After consulting some of the members we have decided to open up the first completely private group as it is felt that it is completely unfair to alot of bootsers as part of finding the glitches is thrashing things out.

I have to make some changes as there is personal info on the board and I need to protect the current members. It should take me about an hour or so.

This board will be open to EVERYONE. Not just 'friends' but EVERYONE. No exeptions whatsoever. It can be used to thrash out any gitches or ideas etc and for help with things.

I will then send a board guide any info we find in order to maintain the MSE thread so that EVERYONE, including those not registered with MSE are able to see the information.

To me this seems most sensible as I'm getting alot of PM's. It keeps information on MSE yet does not cause hours of dealing with issues for them. It also means there is a place for everyone and a non biased warning sytem will be used.

If you wish to join up the web addy is: http://bootsrefugees.proboards.com please use your MSE usename as it acts as a protection for everyone. It may take an hour before aproval.

I really wanted to keep out of any 'issues' but the amount of PM's is hard to ignore.

I hope this offers the solution to MSE, All bootsers and the existing members of the group.

Maybe MSE will allow this chat to thread to remain and update the grabbit with the link until I have secured existing members information so that bootsers are not left in the dark.

I agree with you totally I just feel so gutted. Why do we have to suffer because of a few. Couldn't you have just banned them instead. I will have to go to thearapy now to deal with my boots addiction. Thanks for leaving me to go cold turkey:eek:

Thanks so much for getting things organised Broclo - dread to think how long all this is taking you. I LOVE the boots thread and got a lot of great bargains when I was on mat leave last year. Pop on less frequently now back in work but I had noticed a lot of regulars were no longer posting or posting less frequently. Its soooooo sad as I will miss. Hope we can get some alternative sorted elsewhere!!

what a shame. I used to love the grabbit board but hardly visited recently. it really was nice so many of you shared the gliches. good luck with your new board. maybe you could still post some gliches here so we dont all miss out
