Option 3 bb is a rip off, you dont get to really use the full extent of it. Take it down to option 2 if you can. You will save money and not notice the diff

Well if a saving of £240 a year is 'not a great deal of difference', then perhaps you're on the wrong forum? £20 a month is more than many people pay in total for their broadband and calls..
You appear to have signed up for the most expensive option available, so why complain about the cost now?
Macman i think you're getting confused. The OP is paying QUARTERLY not monthly, as stated earlier with BT vision they have a package for £41 a MONTH making it £123 a QUARTER. If the OP is paying £140 then his "extras" are around £20 a QUARTER, thats the amount refered to as "not a great deal of difference". Its not £240 a year, its approx £68. Every penny counts and all that, but its not £240 like you said. Easy to get confused as most people pay monthly nowadays.

Thanks Katgrit, you are quite correct, I misread the original post. I think the point I was trying to make is that the OP didn't say what package he was actually contracted to, but just that BT was 'too expensive'. Without knowing what he was getting for £140 a qtr, or what he actually wanted, nobody could offer him any real advice.
And a saving of c. £70 pa would be enough to pay for broadband on it's own, eg O2 at £7.34 per month.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

I think the big chunk of his outgoing is the extra he's paying for the TV BTvision thing. Just looked it up, and its hilariously expensive for what it looks like it consists of. BT are trying to be Sky, and they just aint.

My quarterly bill is just over £30.. I never use BT to make phone calls, I always use VoIP over my broadband line, and if I had a choice (but cant because of ADSL) I would cut my BT line all together.. Look into VoIP and the different SIP providers.. If you pick the right one you can call (nearly) worldwide for free, using your normal handset. :)
