T-Mobile poor signal

I'm currently 6 months into an 18month contract with T-Mobile. However one of the big problems I have is signal quality at work. Since thats my main use for the phone for business. Currently I get 0 signal. Maybe if I'm lucky I will get a bar or 2 but that can drop out at a moments notice. I did some research and it turns out that in some cases, if the area your in has poor signal they can release you from the contract early, since your paying for it and can't use it. However at home I get full signal. But when I visit my girlfriend who is also on T-mo she has almost 0 signal as well.

When I used their website to show coverage, it states my workplace has good coverage and my girlfriends town has excellent coverage. Well not in my experience.

Do I have any ground to complain? After all, I'm paying £40/month for a phone I can only use at home and not at work, which is what I need it for.

Is your phone operating on 3G or 2G? What sort of phone is it? I get the impression its just the 3G setting turned on (sometimes it shows as a blue box, a blue box with a H in, or a blue box with 3G in it..
