How to print large maps onto A4 paper without shrinking

A friend of ours was asking how he could print off the map below onto pieces of A4 paper. The only way I thought of was saving the doc and opening it up in Paint and cut and pasting sections onto A4 paper but that seems a bit long winded, and may not be accurate.
Is there another way of printing this onto sheets of A4.

IIRC depending on the programme and printer (I think you need one that can do "borderless" prints), you should be able to set it to print over multiple pages, then you just need to physically join the pages together.
I think Painshop Pro used to do it, and i'm fairly certain Photoshop should do it, but i'm afraid it's not something i've ever done.1 -

That looks great, thanks for the info.
I'll let him know, I am going to give it a go myself, there are some great ideas on there.

Good idea, but the maximum file size is 1mb - with the OP's image, which is quite big with a lot of detail, he will lose a lot of quality trying to compress it down to 1mb.

Yes, I just tried the map and it didn't work as it was too big, I will tell him about this site too, ta.
I'm glad I came on here to ask the question now as my 10 year old daughter will love making some posters.

You might like to take a look at this thread from earlier in the week: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1812025
Have you thought about uploading to https://www.zoho.com (zoho writer) allows you to upload images upto 10MB in size, or to grab them direct from an alternative webpage, you could then maybe 'cut' the image in half, then print it to A4 do that to each half, then 'tape' the parts together, you could even do the samething but as 4, then 'tape' them together again. It may get you to where you wish to be.
HTHIt could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.0 -

Thanks for the link and info, I shall give him the link.
I don't know how big he wants to print the map but it is quite detailed so I imagine he may want to make it a poster size.

He could always take the file to a high street print shop and get it printed poster size up to A0.There's love in this world for everyone. Every rascal and son of a gun.
It's for the many and not the few. Be sure it's out there looking for you.
In every town, in every state. In every house and every gate.
Wth every precious smile you make. And every act of kindness.
