Cash Machine hasn't taken money out of my account!

Had a quick search on forum but not found anything on this.
It's been almost 3 weeks now and money hasn't been taken out of my account! It was at a Sainsburys machine and it was £60. Question is, how long do I leave it b4 I spend the money? Do cash machines have a limited time to take the money? Any advice would be appreciated.

I don't think there is a time limit so it coud take years to come out.

    Don't spend it.

Technically as the money hasn't come out of your account yet you have already had the £60 free!

They will track you just depends on when they check the atm... but as it is a super market I woulda thought it'd be checked every few days.

Better to ring up, they would give you the money if it hadn't given it to u and debited your account.

I have had this happen to me twice.

Once I took £50 out of an ATM and the amount was never debited from my account. The other time I went into a small sub-branch of my bank and cashed a cheque for £60. That never came out of my account either.

I was well pleased on both occasions, it gave me a chance to get some of my money back from the back to compensate for all their charges.

Whether you agree with bank charges or not (I happen to actually) is irrelevant. This is just THEFT IMO

Obviously, there's no problem with spending the £60 cash.

But you will have to (if necessary, for years, as mentioned) keep at least £60 in your account in order to avoid an overdraft charge if the sum should be taken when you weren't expecting it.

So if you ever claim back bank charges, will you deduct £110? Or did you, if you have already reclaimed?

    Yeah, I didn't think so...

Just a thought - did you actually use the card you thought you did??
I hope that when you get your credit card statement its not on there together with the cash advance fee and the interest at 30% or so!

The money will very likely come out of your account at some stage so you need to make sure you have enough to cover the amount. There was a similar case with Morrisons a few months ago.

Ah, but in similar threads on here when people conplain that the machine didn't give them all (or any) of their money, you normally insist the machines are foolproof.

So, the bank can't possibly have made even one mistake, let alone two, so Vet8 must have been dreaming and there is nothing to pay back!!!!

Well, the debt will be unenforceable after six years (5 in Scotland) so there is a little while to wait!
