No need for that. I'm just wondering why you are soliciting for such things.

Perhaps it would be more sensible for people to report the respective business to environmental health?

Good on you! Praise on this Board has a place too! Pauls chippy in Houston and the Dragon Palace chinese carry out in Bridge of Weir are both excellent.

I've always lived in tourist areas on the South Coast and have found in general the takeaways (especially fish and chip shops) are far inferior and way dearer than non-tourist areas. OH used to work in Slough, for instance, and the takeaways we used there were excellent. Daughter was at uni in Middlesborough and the food there was REALLY cheap and REALLY good (especially the "parmesans" - which should carry a government health warning for calorie content). OH and I reckon that the takeaways here get away with their miserable helpings, poor cooking and high prices because most of their trade is from holidaymakers who won't be regular customers and so don't have to be pleased with what they buy.
