i won, seller has relisted item

i won a desk on 12th July for £5.84. the possible methods of payment was cash on collection or paypal. Straight away I said to the seller is cash on collection ok. He said yes.
I have been in touch with him every day for the past 4 days and I have been in touch with my dad who was going to pick up the desk. The seller yesterday relisted the item on a starting bid of £9.99 after giving me only 4 days to pick up the desk.
It is obvious that he did not want to sell it for £5.84.
Do you think this is reasonable as other transactions on ebay involving item pick up I have delt with have gone on 3 - 4 weeks?
Is there a minimum time that must go by before the seller can relist the item.
I can not open a dispute on the item until the 22nd of July and by that time the desk will have been sold again.
I have emailed ebay, but does anyone know a good email address to get them on, or a phone number maybe.
I think I should get some compo. Do you agree?

Unfortunately, You would not be entitled to compensation. A similar thing happened to me where i won 2 large bundles of kids clothes for just 15 pounds including the postage! Seller ignored all emails for 8 days...(even though i paid paypal) and then suddenly relisted both for a higher start price. I got a refund and reported the seller for non performance, and left the seller a neg. Even though i really wanted the clothes i had to let it goIf google doesn't know it, how should i?0

Nope, you have no entitlement.
There is little that you can do to force the seller to sell to you, you'll just have to go the route suggested above and hopefully help prevent them doing it again in future. We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0 -
Just go and collect the bloody thing, and stop being a knob. What the hell do you want compensation for, time-wasting???
How do you even know they hadn't got 2 identical items? Also, it's possible they've just relisted it temporarily, and as soon as you pick it up they'll pull the listing.Back on MSE after a 5 year hiatus.

Pay him .My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
Frankly, I'd just get the money back, leave a negative comment and forget about it.
You could open a dispute if you want, but for a £5.84 desk is it really worth it? What do expect ebay to do apart from make sure you've got your money back? They'll probably do very little. In fact, ebay are experts at doing very little."I am not young enough to know everything." Oscar Wilde0 -
he has told me that he has relisted the item. I have reported him.0
