Hi,
Hopefully someone can help, I'm looking to go Orlando in Sept/Oct for two weeks, I'm looking a budget of £2,500 for two people for flights (not Monarch), Villa (Private Pool) and Car Hire. I've tried Virgin and Thomson and prices seem to be £3,000 +, I also was hoping to be able to put down a deposit of £1000-£1500 and pay the rest of over the desk two months
Thanks in advance

I just stuck the first 2 weeks of September into sky scanner (as an example) and Virgin flights are around 580 each, a villa starts from around £67/night (can get lower if you shop around, I'm sure) and the car's £213. Easily within budget.
I'd give up on trying to go through a package provider and just use the search engines and get the bet prices on each thing by itself.0 -

It's important to remember that this is America we're talking about. Most of the adults would prefer to be pushed around in a stroller if they could get away with it, let alone the kids - and that's why you can't move for all the mobility scooters over there0 -

I think a lot of it was that for my husband it was everyone else looking at our son and then knowing he had disabilities when he looks 'normal' on the outside. Or perhaps he then had to accept that his son has these disabilities. I told my husband that if was happy to accept the GAC pass to make our day easier then he has to accept that the buggy makes DS's day easier. There are always the Disney strollers to fall back on but it does get expensive to hire each day, but that is an option the one we have will last until he is 12-14 so we will get many holidays out of it.
When you get there your son will see lots of bigger children in Disney strollers and buggies so do not make an issue of it until you are actually there. No-one will be laughing, there are kids of 10 years plus being pushed around in Disney strollers at times. My son said he would not use it but when we get there he just gets into it. Tell him you are going to park it up near the entrance and come back if he needs it later in the day as a trial. My son said the same but it was very different when we got there and he asked for a Disney buggy - and after that the Elite came everywhere with us.
As I say, we hide it for the majority of the photos so him being seen in it by people here is not an issue, those where he is in the buggy are for our computer and eyes only. Some of them I deleted as we had enough of him out of it so we did not need all of the 4500 photos I took anyway. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Yeah, there is so much walking isnt there. Interesting about older kids in buggies , that will definately help him not be so embarrassed. Maybe i'll pop on some sonic badges on it to make it less of a thing. He has a large stroller that he pushes around in the garden so he does like pushchairs.
How does your son react to the characters?
And hope you disnt get all those photos printed from on your printer!:rotfl:0 -
LOL, that would not be very MSE would it!! I got some photobooks done via Bonusprint and they had 2 for the price of 1. I got large ones and they have 60 pages (possibly a few more as you can add them in) and they were around £50 for 2 and I have around 500 pictures in each book - maybe more, maybe less, some I had extra pictures in. The books are always out for people to look at. I got one for DS with pictures of him, one for DD with pictures of her, one for Disney, one for Universal, one discovery cove and one 'holiday diary' with pictures of everything else.
Oh, and we get the Disney Photopass with the magic photos in as well.
My son does not really do characters so we do not worry about that, when it comes to the parades he will be in the buggy so we turn him around if they are getting too close where as before he would freak out and have a tantrum and we would have to leave. My DD went to see some characters and he had to wait for her. In Epcot they have a 'station' where they all are and we was waiting in the queue and because DS had his pass they let us go to the front, he only wanted pictures with Mickey while he was there. The cast members are really very good.
If you are getting a photo pass, look for the Disney photographers whpo have camera with no trip, they are able to do magic photos and you can have Tink in your hand, sitting next to Stitch, Mickey, Minnie - all the parks have different characters so ask all of them if they do magic photos. It does not matter how many pictures you have done it is just one price and you view them when you get home. My husband and DS were hopeless at posing and my husband was looking at the camera and not the character in every single picture, LOL. I am after the one with Simba in my arms next!!
Pre-buy it before you leave and it is cheaper: http://www.disneyphotopass.com/previsitoffer.aspx Beware, you actually have to buy it, we had it in the basket and did not realise so we missed out.
Have you looked at Discovery Cove? My son never went past the knees in the water, it was so cold and was an absolute waste of a hueg amount of money. This time we are taking him to Shark Reef (obsession with fish!!) at Typhoon Lagoon because you can snorkel with the fish for free.0 -
hi everyone
im after a bit of advice and help really. My partner and i really want to go to florida april 2014 but its so confusing! We dont know if it would work cheaper to pay for hotel/flights and tickets separately or if its better to book it all together.
ive been looking in brochures and online but i honestly dont know what to do! We will have a 5 year old so Disney is a must, and we want to do pretty much everything! What tickets would be best?

Just pricing up for our visit and at the moment the Virgin deal looks best for us, called the Magic Me package and covers lots of the parks we want to go too. I guess it's difficult to advise as you are planning to visit in 2014 and price may be a lot different.
Good luck in the mind field.0
