    Hi Everyone

We will be thier for Xmas week. Can anyone tell me what its like then? I have read to not really do any Disney Parks on xmas day as they will be overpacked and waits for rides will be loooonnng!!

We plan to do Universal & Busch again, but if I was to pick one more park what should it be? I also read that it may not be that warm in December - what are your experiences of going in December. I have read about Gaylord Palms & Peabody for dinner on xmas day - do you guys know anywhere else?

I have been the week before Christmas, and it was sunny and very hot. However, I have also been in mid November, and it has been quite chilly. As for the crowds, Christmas is supposed to be the busiest time of year at the parks - I think they often stop letting people in by lunchtime as they are too full.

The upside is that the parks will be beautifully decorated. Disney studios had 'snow' falling in the streets when we went, and they also have the 'Osborne spectacle of lights' which is fantastic. I imagine the parks will stay open quite late that week. I think if I were to pick a park to visit over christmas, I would pick Disney studios or if you didn't want to do Disney, then Seaworld maybe (I havent done that park at Christmas).

Both of those venues should serve a nice Christmas lunch. Maybe try asking on the https://www.tripadvisor.com orlando forum - there are plenty of locals on there who have probably dined there.
  • Disney's Celebration town has a free Christmas event called "Now Snowing" which runs from Thanksgiving to New Year which is well worth a visit. There is an ice rink, beautiful lights, live music, Santa, carriage rides and carollers and it "snows" (foam) every hour. The crowds are much lower than in the parks.

    Hi Everyone

I have been to Orlando a few times before but only for a few days here or thier as my base is Fort Lauderdale. I have done Busch Gardens, Universal, Island of Adventure & Magic Kingdom - but thats its.

We will be thier for Xmas week. Can anyone tell me what its like then? I have read to not really do any Disney Parks on xmas day as they will be overpacked and waits for rides will be loooonnng!!

So many questions...sorry, but any advice you can give me I'd really appreciate it. Thank you.

Think busy then multiply it by 1000000000 and you still won't be close...all the rides had 90+ minute queues, fastpasses all gone by 11am, extra queueing areas made outside of the rides, parks are in stage 3 shutdown by 11am. The I4 and 192 like carparks...Its great. :rotfl::rotfl:
We have been for the last 3 years..2008 was lovely and warm after that not so much lol..we were at sea world last December with Hats, gloves, coats and still had to buy blankets it was -2!
We tend to avoid all of the parks from around the 20/12 until 4/1 as it really is a nightmare.
We have done the Villa De Flora for the last few years..it's a buffet and I think it's quite expensive but if you time it with Ice and Show (and this year it's Dreamworks and Shrek) it's a lovely xmas day.
If you are doing MK for Wishes think about booking the dessert party, you get reserved seating and at that time of year it makes a huge difference. Again if you are thinking of the CP at Epcot do a reserved dinner..people start queueing at lunch time for a 9pm showing. Crazy!

  • hello everyone!

I'm looking for your wisdom and advice.

I'm looking to book a holiday to Orlando next June. I'm looking for a package deal that will give me apartment style accommodation plus flights - preferably from the North East.

I'm looking for a one bedroomed apartment for 2 adults and a two bedroomed apartment for 2 adults and 2 children (4yrs and 6yrs). Ideally the apartment would be in the International Drive area.

Most of the package holidays that I can find are hotel based.

Any ideas where I can look for what I need?

    Thanks in advance

We stayed in the Hawthorn Suites - me, Dh and 2 ds 12 & 9 - It had one bedroom with 2 large doubles, and a sitting/dining room with limited kitchen facilites - hob, microwave, coffee maker and toaster and large fridge freezer - we never ate in, apart from odd bowl of cereal ( breakfast is included) so it suited us perfect. We stayed in the Lake Buena Vista ones but they have them in Int Drive too.

  • My folks are staying in florida for 4 nights then 3 nights with a cruise inbetween. They are determined to spend 2 days in Epcot and Magic Kingdom and 2 days in Universal studios... I have been given the thankless task of finding tickets for this.

Can any kind soul direct me to the best place to purchase these, I cant help be think that they will have to buy direct from disney and universal rather than acquiring discounted multi attraction tickets?

    Any assistance appreciated.
