Orlando/Disneyworld Thread (Part 3)

Dolly, kids under 3 eat for free at all table service an buffet meals so there would be no need. You could say she was 3 but it would just be a waste of food (and money) to be honest.
If you buy her a dining plan you'll also need to buy a ticket (buying the Disney Ultimate Ticket gets you the free dining plan. You do need to buy hotel and Disney tickets (Ultimates are best) together to qualify for the dining plan so then she would not be free.
However, you will only be eating as a group 5 as the 3 year old will eat for free and will not count on the table!! So the bit about gratuities is irrelevant. Make sure you book a table for 2 adults, 3 kids and an infant. If they do not ask for the infant, it will just be a party of 5.0 -
You can pay your gratuities by cash rather than your room key. No need to use that unless you want to.
By the way, I'm another fan of Old Key West :T0 -

Is it better to wait for the last min deals?
Found £819 from jetlinetravel - 5 days in Orlando, 5 days in Miami, cheap hotels + car, still quite expensive
You may struggle to easily find cheap deals at that time because it includes UK half term; can you move your dates slightly earlier? It could make quite a difference
From MAN you are limited to Virgin Atlantic if you want to fly direct, or a charter airline. Indirect flights, of which there will be a number from MAN, can be a way to save money too0 -
Hi V, Thanks am waiting with bated breath, will be a few more months yet, I looked last week and they only had up to December but had one beds at OKW, SSR, Wilderness Villas and Beach Club - I'll be happy with any of those for a week for £175
I know it'll be busy but if we want to go when it is warmer we'll have to put up with it I suppose. Tied to school holidays now, Easter was the best option really.0 -

Karen, they automatically bill 6 or more and as the plan is on the room key, this is where they will charge. However, dolly will only have a party of 5 as the infant does not count.0 -
Advance reservations are strongly recommended.
Gratuities are not included. The Disney Dining Plan
is unavailable for Guests under the age of 3, but they
may share from an adult plate at no charge, or a
meal may be purchased from the menu. The price of
the meal will be added to your bill. Guests ages 3-9
must order from a children’s menu where available.
This is the plan for OKW. The counter meals are huge so there will be plenty to go around for your under 3 - my kids never finished a meal. Buffet meals you can choose stuff for her so go for these if you prefer this but I would not worry about her going hungry. They like their food over there.0 -

Hence my answer - party of five0 -

Someone spotted a BLT trade the other day too, if that appeals? Which would you choose, in an ideal world (just being nosey!)
Can't go wrong with any of them, obviously0 -
Hi Folks!
Can any UK travellers please advise how much I should be looking at PP for a week - 10nights, staying International Drive area, 1st week in May 2012...or can anyone advise how much they paid this year to give me an idea??
Is one week long enough or should I just go for 10 nights?
Just need a starting point so I can start looking at prices.
Also, are there any recommendations for websites to buy park tickets and rent a car? As there are only two of us I was thinking we will just go to a hotel instead of renting a villa, therefore, we will be booking hotel & flights together.
Thanks!0 -
NancyO,
Hi it seems that May is a bit of a bargain month for Hols to Orlando.
Myself & OH came back on 23rd of May,we went for a week with Monarch/cosmos holidays we paid just under £385 each, Flying from Manchester.
There were better hotel deals but did'nt fancy some of the reviews on trip advisor.
We stayed at the Homewood suites on I-Drive,good size rooms with kitchen..Microwave,fridge,hob and all plates, glasses etc.
Plus breakfast is included and free wine and beer three nights a week.
It's close to a lot of eateries on I drive.
If you are looking for tickets I have used https://www.Orlandoattractions.com before they are very good and come highly recommended on other sites.
Car hire we booked separately.
The weather was really nice, not stifling like the summer.
If you can I would definately recommend waiting as we will do this again next year .
There are good and bad reviews of monarch but the airbus 3330 was very good and the food also.
I have flown with loads of different airlines including the big national carriers and I still enjoyed this flight as much.
Happy planning,
clare x0
