jeannie - it looks beautiful there. I'm off to enquire about our dates! Thanks for your help.
You are very welcome! We have stayed on Anna-Maria a lot and I think this is the nicest accommodation. Peggy and Ashok who own it are lovely too. They have refurbished all the accommodation in the last couple of years. If you want any more info feel free to PM, I am in danger of taking over this thread!
Wish I hadn't booked for Georgia and S Carolina now! :rotfl:0 -
Hello All!
I'm going to florida (as mentioned before) on the 5th april! Im going with my boyfriend and its his 19th birthday whilst we're there, how would i go about arranging a cake at a restaurant, also any recommendations which restaurants would be best for this? as we're going just the two of us, i wondered if i could arrange it/contact someone whilst still in the UK as to not ruin the suprise. Anybody celebrated birthdays here before and have any ideas on how to make them special at disney?
Thankyou!
x
DH did this for me on my birthday last year and I had a custom made castle cake - very small but a wonderful surprise. You have to be eating at a Disney restaurant to make this happen though, so is that in your plans?
I can't help with outside Disney restaurants, but there are always scrum my looking cakes on sale at Publix, WalMart etc.....0 -
chaos weddings, if you need 4 bedrooms, would a villa not be the most practical solution/cost effective for you? In October you should be able to find one at a good rate. We've been looking for Oct 2011, and prices were coming in for anything £500 per week upwards......perhaps someone with more knowledge than me could help more though....[/QUOTE]
We would go for a villa but wont be driving, so ideally would like to stay on i drive again, we didnt have a car last time and found it easier enough getting around to the parks.
we are looking at 2 separate rooms now as some of the suites have 2 bedrooms and a sofa bed, so mum and brother can have 1 room and me, dh and ds can have the other room, but i am waiting for a email from one hotel that has 3 bedroom suites0 -

Lots of info here on the cakes: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=35722611#post35722611
What sort of restaurant do you fancy? What's your budget?
One of my favourites is the Yachtsman's Steakhouse; rough price for two people with wine plus tip could easily exceed $200. The other ones I really like include Flying Fish and Jiko (similar price).0 -
so the parking is up to $14 a day now ....
Parking at Universal is a whopping $15 !!
.... silly thing but i thought the cheesecake factory was literally a cheese cake place .... like a dairy maid idea full of loads of different cheese cakes to try lol
I thought that too but went for lunch /dinner yesterday - it is at Millenia Mall next to the Valet Parking, and it was the nicest food we have had all holiday ! Lovely fresh salads etc - huge prtions though - DH had the fish and chips ( lol he always does!:rotfl:) and I had a hand ripped pork in a bun - delish!!
Our bill came to around $70 but that was for 2 adults and two kids and then 3 deserts - the cheesecakes are to die for with a choice of around 30+. Me being very sad took photos of all of ours and even the menu ( for recipe ideas of course)
Any more questions - let me know no probs!

Hi everyone,
I am hoping someone can help me out with a bit of Florida advice?
There are a group of 20 going over to Florida in April (a dance school going over to compete with the girls varying in age from 13-24). None of us has ever been to Florida before and I was wondering if people could give us suggestions on what to do and also how much spending money would be about right for each of the girls?
We are only going for the week and the first few days will be filled with prep for the comp. On the basis that we have 3 days to fill, what would experienced Florida visitors say are a must? The thoughts at the moment are 1 day theme park, 1 day water park and the 3rd day shopping?
Also with this in mind could anyone tell me how much they think would be enough spending money for this time per girl? Their flights, villa, transport and food (in the villa) have already been allocated.
Thanks in advance.0 -
If you are only doing one park I would suggest a Universal for that age range. Which one though? Islands of Adventure has the bigger, faster rides but Studios has the new Harry Potter. Citywalk, between the two is good for the evening as well. It has restaurants, shopping and a multi-screen cinema and good themed bars for the older ones so there is something for everyone in the same area. Strictly over 21 for alcohol and 1 drink per ID, so no rounds, throughout Florida though!
Edit to say you can easily do a water park and shopping in one day. The malls like Florida Mall and Festival Bay are open until 9-9.30pm and Premium Outlet Malls are open until 11pm, so that could take care of another evening too.
Wouldn't know where to start on spending money. They may want loads of souvenirs and there are designer clothes, bags etc in the outlets far cheaper than here. Very much depends on whether they are Gap or Fendi kinda girls!0 -
The Harry Potter land is in Island of ADventure, but i am sure you caould maybe go to the tow as they are right next to each other. The parks at universal do an eat all day for $23 offer for adults and that includes all meals for the day at selected restuarants - may be a good option too as it is usually aound $10 just for main course - with this u get drink and dessert
