Ebay - Paypal Payment Reversed

Sam thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago Spammy - the buyer said it must have been becuase her debit card had expired or something like that. I got the money back too, as soon as I provided Paypal with the tracking number etc. Sometimes I am SOOOOOO pleased that I only sell low value items on eBay. I'd panic I think if it were something that scammers are interested in.0

I had to provide them with the information too but then did not get my money back.
Just don't get why they can't give me a reason for all of this. I also noticed (afterwards) that the buyers address on the paypal form once they had paid was actually written in the notes section rather than the address section. 0 -

Ah, unfortunately that might be why you were not covered. Paypal seller protection only covers you if you can track to the address used by paypal in the 'OK to send' box.
However, this still does not address your main problem, the fact that this dispute was opened and closed without you noticing..and even though you were not covered I would urge you to follow that up.Have you checked your spam filters, when you log into paypal and the dispute centre does it show anything about a start date for the dispute? You should have been given the chance to defend it, after all otherwise how did they know you weren't covered? Someone must have given them some information otherwise the dispute would have closed against you as timed out.
Fir future reference items must be sent to the address supplied by paypal and to win a chargeback they must show as delivered at that address. Items over £39 must go as special to be covered against loss by Royal mail, recorded is just standard post and covers up to £39 of loss only.
One thing you can still do here though is chase the recipient, does your tracking number show as delivered? If so you cna prove you delivered somehting to an address you were given and therefore can persue the people at that address and I would certainly consider doing that.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Yeah the tracking number is showing as delivered. I have again sent another email to the buyer saying that i've tried contacting them through ebay and had no joy and asking for them to get in contact with me etc. I have had a look online for making a claim at the small claims court - will this cost me?! Also it seems to look extremly complicated, i am in Scotland and the website is nowhere near as good. Everything seems to confusing and i'm not sure what to do.0

I didn't know there was an online facility to make claims in Scotland.
I thought it was the old fashioned paper method filed at your local court.
Anyway, paper or electronic, I can't really see how it is very difficult, The claim form simply asks for the basic information.
i.e.
Your name & address
The defendants name & address
The reason/basis for the claim
How much you are claiming.

Which part don't you understand?

I'm just not sure if i want to go down that route or not - i will have to pay and i still might not even see the original money!
I noticed that the buyer had feedback from someone else - they had bought another phone too - so i contacted them and apparantly they had the same problem that the buyer raised an issue with paypal so they had paypal stop the order - but lucky for them they hadn't sent the phone yet!0 -
PayPal is a bank, and we all know how trustworthy and honest banks are...
I've had similar experiences with PP. I have spent far too much time speaking to 'English-as-a-second-language' call centre staff, who merely recite PP's (unhelpful) policy.
Their 'reviews' and decisions are made behind closed doors, and, despite many requests, PP have never disclosed their policy details, or offered any transparency.
In my opinion, its just a matter of time before any PP user comes unstuck.
Even for a successful transaction, I had a buyer who transferred a large sum to me, only for PP to put a 10 day clearance on it. When the money finally reached my account, nearly 3 weeks had elapsed. The buyer complained to PP, to no avail.
Just think how much PP is making on the overnight markets, and short-term holdings...
I am trying to take legal action against PP, for being out of pocket due to their incompetence, but its almost impossible to communicate with them or get any sense out of them. Plus, they have a near-monopoly for eBay sales - forcing sellers to use PP for many listings. They are becoming increasingly unpleasant to deal with.
Check out some alternatives. And try not to use PP. On eBay, most buyers and sellers are still very reasonable, and I think many become less so largely due to problems related to PP. I'd suggest to communicate well with buyers and sellers before, during, and after transactions.0 -

A near total waste of time - you'll just get more of the standard spiel..0 -
