Well I've been looking at our accounts, and we're not actually doing that bad, as last month we were almose £600 overdrawn, and now we're £200ish overdrawn, so we've really saved £400..
Have had a chat with hubby and we're going to try and have a weekend withougt spending - apart from the food bits we need.Mummy to 3 fabulous boys all under 4 :eek:0 -
Well I had a NSD today and yesterday :j I've been really good with cooking every night so there haven't been any nights when hubby has come home and nothing's been ready so we've had to go out for tea
I'm feeling quite positive now :rolleyes:Mummy to 3 fabulous boys all under 4 :eek:0 -
Ooh I forgot to post that we've been given a lovely pine chest of drawers for baby's room from Freecycle, and our childminder is going to give us a wardrobe too. So I take back what I said about buying all matching, free is betterMummy to 3 fabulous boys all under 4 :eek:0

Also, we saw that there were Little Tykes Cosy Coupe cars on offer in Asda for £19, so I sent hubby for one but there were none left
We were going to get it for DS for Xmas.

Grrr we went shopping last night, and I wanted to spend £50 max, and we spend £50 in Supermarket and £9 in Jack Fultons. I suppose it's not too bad as we bought a new mop with 2 new mop heads for £6, and then some sweets and pop for me to take to the cinema. I think we will have to budget £90 a week for all groceries, fuel and toddler groups etc.
I went to see the new Harry Potter last night and was pretty disappointed! It was very slow and I just kept waiting for something to happen. I was relieved when it finished!Mummy to 3 fabulous boys all under 4 :eek:0 -
Ooh hubby has just come home with a lovely Welsh Dresser from FreeCycle for our dining room. It fits in really well and means I'll be able to spend my weekends looking for cute cups and plates at the car boot sales.
Oh, and hopefully get rid of the yukky plastic drawers that live in my dining room too YEY.Mummy to 3 fabulous boys all under 4 :eek:0 -
WOW! I think this may possibly be our first ever NSW (no spend weekend) :j We always end up getting fed up and going out to buy something or other, I honestly can't remember a weekend ever when we've spent nothing!!
Well I spent yesterday with my mum and dad, and then today I've been listing and getting rid of loads of stuff on FreeCycle. The new dresser has been put up in the dining room and it looks fabI'm just cleaning and tidying in there, and it almost looks like a proper room rather than the junk room it's been for 2 and a half years! I just need to get some nice curtains for in there rather than the gross pink shiny ones we have, and it will be almost done.
Hubby is upstairs putting DS first bed together. We have borrowed a bed guard from a friend, so fingers crossed he doesn't fall out of bed tonight :rotfl:Mummy to 3 fabulous boys all under 4 :eek:0 -
Well done for your NSW, we spent a few pounds at the bootsale (including a talking Upsy Daisy for 50p!).
Reading your diary, you seem to eat out quite often. Curbing this may help with moneysaving a bit.
A diary of every penny you spend over the course of a month should explain where your cash goes to. Looking back on it, you'll be quite surprised at where you can save. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

Yes we do spend a lot on eating out, we're trying our best to curb that though, and I've been good and organised this week, and got the meat out from the freezer in the morning etc.
I think if we eat out once every two weeks that's a good start. I'd like to get it down to once a month, but think that may be a bit much of a change straight away...Mummy to 3 fabulous boys all under 4 :eek:0
