£2 off BT monthly broadband (existing customers)

Hi All,
I phoned up BT yesterday asking for my MAC code as I was considering moving suppliers & the first thing they did, without any prompting from me, was to offer me £2 discount per month (& I'm only on the cheapest £14.99 package). Please note though it does kick off a new 12 month contract term.
If you're with BT & happy to stay with them give it a go (just dial 150 from your land-line & follow the menu to broadband). Might only be £2 a month but it all adds up :-)

firstly - bt's cheapest package is only £14.99 for the first 3 months, then it is £17.99
secondly - i would have just migrated anyway - since you can get the same bt package (ie. 2mb speed, 2gb usage) for £13.99 (but at upto 8mb in speed) all the time with zazizam, or £11.99 with their phone option)... which would save you (taking into account 1st 3 months @ £14.99) - between £39 and £63 a year... assuming i can do the maths correctly0 -

the only thing which worries me about changing from BT is a problem that my friend had. They had broadband with tiscali but the BT phone line where we live seems to go down more often than it should. Anyway, last year, their phone was down for four weeks (apparently the engineer came out to fix it but managed to botch it up even more and it took forever to get them out again to fix it). In the meantime, they are paying for broadband which they cannot use. Tiscali did not want to know about refunding the missed weeks saying it was BT's fault and guess what, BT said it was up to tiscali to refund them. This is the only reason I stay with BT at the moment. The way my luck goes.........?0 -
tiscali are the worst ISP ever.... so it suprises me not one bit
though i haven't heard of a similar problem (as in the above post) that fellow zazizam users have had.... friends and family rate them quite highly, which is good
