HP agreement - Can I reclaim?

Can anyone help please?
I took out a finance agreement for my car in 2006. However, the company have sent me my first statement (Have never had one before) and it shows £3000 for insurance that I was unaware of (PPI). I also recently found out that this was a HP agreement (again I was unaware). Would I be able to claim the insurance back on this agreement?
