We love wraps and I find they make a lovely change to bread a bit ligher somehow IYSWIM? When it's just DH & I (rare!) I tend to go for fillings such as shredded chicken thats been marinated in tikka spices & yoghurt before cooking (one chicken breast will go a long wayLemon_Verbena wrote: »Sunnygirl I hadn't thought of making wraps for lunches, so thanks for that :T it would ring the changes, I do make different breads in the breadmaker but wraps would be something different and adding grated carrot will help pad them out methinks, and make them healthier, will have to look on here for peoples favourite wrap fillings.
), spread the wrap with garlic mayo and put crispy salad leaves in with it. It also works with some cucumber raitia (sp?) and spicy chicken. I like sliced Brie, walnuts and a bit of crumbled blue cheese with leaves and DH's favourite is to spread the wrap with onion chutney and put salad & strong cheddar in there. The children won't eat half of these so I go for simple fillings that all 4 of them will eat at once  such as ham & shredded carrot!
A good tip is to have a look in sandwich shops & see what they're putting on their wraps. Boots do an amazing array in their Shapers range and Tesco have some good ideas too. I used to regularly buy these sort of things until I realised that I might as well throw money down the drain  and it'd be easier, healthier & much cheaper to make them myself.
p.s. Thank for posting the lovely muffin recipes I've copied & pasted them for future reference

This is my first time doing this on here, so here goes:
Mon - pasta and sauce (with added veg) and salad
Tues - salmon, new potatoes and salad
Wed - veggie burgers, new potatoes, baby corn and sugarsnaps
Thurs - frozen pork stew (homemade) with veg as above
Fri - Either salmon and veg if any left over, or frozen (homemdae) veggie curry with rice
Lunches I buy at work - very reasonable employer subsidised canteen. Evening desserts are fruit. Breakfast is toast. I have a freezer full of reduced bread.
Maybe writing it down like this will make me stick to it. I waste so much money doing those midweek, just pop to supermarket for a couple of bits shopping trips.0 -
