E7even Line Upgrade

Hi All

I know there is going to be 100's of emils saying e7even are #####, But i have had a good service. I have just received an email saying they will upgrade my line to ADSL MAX for £19. Is this a good deal as i have never heard of ADSL Max before.

Thanks for your advice

Nutter

Email i received

Dear Nutter

We have checked your line for ADSL MAX availability and this is what the BT checker responded with:

Your exchange is ADSL enabled, and our initial test on your line indicates that your line should be able to have an ADSL broadband service that provides a line rate up to 2Mbps.

Our test also indicates that your line should be able to support a potential ADSL Max broadband line rate of 4.5Mbps or greater.
The actual ADSL Max line rate supportable will be determined during the first 10 days of use, after which time the highest stable rate possible will be set.
If you decide to place an order, a further test will be performed to confirm if your line is suitable for the service you wish to purchase.
Thank you for your interest.

This means your line should be able to support up to 4.5Mbps - 8Mbps once ADSL MAX is fully available in your area. BT will install the ADSL MAX at the fastest speed they possibly can and then over 10 days monitor the line and reduce the speed accordingly, if needed, until you have a stable connection.

If you would like to place an advance order for this upgrade, you can do so now for a limited time at just £19 - standard re-grade prices will be reverted to after offer expires on the 13th April 2006. You can also purchase an ADSL MAX capable Ethernet/USB modem router at a discounted rate of just £29 if you choose to place your order now.

We anticipate that we will be able to place your ADSL MAX order with our network provider within the next 4-5 weeks.

Kind regards

I also received one of these emails, despite that fact that after six weeks of no connection I eventaully got a MAC code and am now with Madasafish. Who are also upgrading those who want a faster connection. But Madasafish aren't charging any extra for the faster speeds now available.

But hopefully lots of E7 users will pay the extra and maybe E7 will then be able to afford to return the remaining part of my biennial subscription which they haven't managed so far.

    Hi

I had the same email, but I have already paid for an upgrade in November 2005 to take place in December 2005, why are they asking for more money. Do not give an option for users who already paid for the upgrade.

Further to line upgrade, I emailed E7, stating I already paid for line upgrade, this is the response I got.

    Dear ...,

We are sorry that the payment of £13 was taken from your card. This was
not intentional and a cheque for £13 will be sent to you as soon as
possible. The upgrade is being processed and will complete within 10
    working days or so.

    Kind Regards,

I've just paid up £19 as well. Got to be worth the risk although on it's own you can't claim £19 back from credit card company - min is £100. You may though if you can link it to the original contract.
