can you get out of a contract?
Options
I have an 18 month contract with 3, with 6 months left to run.
The phone I got with the contract (K800i) is such a rubbish phone, nothing works on it, and it crashes etc. It's been in for repair but is still rubbish.
Anyway, i bought a cheapo phone to use until my contract runs out, but have been told by 3 that I can't use it as it is not a branded 3 phone, and my 3 sim won't work in it
So, is there any way to get out of the rest of my contract, or am I stuffed?
TIA

You can pay the 'early termination fee', which is basically your monthly line rental multiplied by whatever period you have remaining. This will bring your contract end date to whenever you pay the fee.
The other alternatives are buy another new phone. It doesn't have to be 3-branded, but it must be 3G. Or, wait another 2 months, and do an early upgrade to a 3 handset of your choice. This will however tie you in to a further 18 months.Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j

There's no way I'm going to upgrade or renew. I'll wait. Thanks for the advice0

If it still crashs after repair keep sending it back, after 2 times u mah be able to ask for an alternative handset0
