LTSB stalling for time ?

Hi
I sent a letter to Lloyds TSB on 22nd May 09 advising them that my PPi on my loan has been miss-sold.
They replied letter dated 7th June to say they will investigate the concerns I raised but it may take a little time and they would do their best to complete their enquieries as soon as they could and they could then respond to my complaint in full and at that stage resolve matters.
Next letter arrived dated 1 July writing with an update about my complaint. Saying sorry for the delay but its taken longer than anticipated to gather all the information and they will do their best to provide a final decision within the next 4 weeks. If they are unable to provide me with a final decision they will send me a letter which will provide me with info required to raise my concerns with Financial Ombudsman Service. However they (LTSB) hope to resolve my concern much sooner than this and provide me with a full response to my complaint.
Should I have any questions reguarding their investigation or if I have any further information whuch may help them with their enquieries then I should call them!
My question is are they stalling for time? Can I do anything while I wait another few weeks?
Thanks

Hello there
My experience with Lloyds is the same as yours, but remember if the 8 weeks have passed, you can if you want to take your complaint to the FOS, we did this anyway, and was eventually successful through the FOS and not with Lloyds themselves, hopefully though yours will be resolved through them, to save you going to the FOS.
You can if you want to prepare a complaints form ready and send a copy of a completed one to Lloyds, this may shift them.
And make them aware you ahve continued to take your case to the FOS (if 8 weeks have already passed that is).
Good luck and keep us posted.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

I have had this with all of my Lloyds PPi reclaims and I have letters just like this at the 1/2 way point. I'd say hold tight as all 3 of mine have been paid out by the 8 week point. Good Luck x0

Hi I have now had a letter (dated 13 October 09) from Lloyds TSB which basicaly is telling me they accept responsibility for miss-selling the PPI
However they then go on to say that I received a partial rebate in May 2008 and that will be taken into consideration when calculating the refund.
More to the poin they state that "As already advised our records indicate that your loan was in the hands of the Consumer Debt Recovery department of the bank. Due to this the ballance will be sent to them on receipt of the signed acceptance. However the 8 % simple interest will be paid directly to my bank account"
3 Issues -
1 - I did receive a partial refund (without notification) but they then wrote to me to tell me they would not refund it to me but apply it to my loan as we were in arrears at the time! They have no knowledge I received the refund and they have not contacted me to say they have applied the refund to the loan.
2 - My loan is now closed and deemed 'satisfied' which I found out via one of the self credit check companies who I wrote to for advice on the matter as I again never have receive notification from Lloyds even after arranging Token Payments. The Credit Reference Agency confirms the details are correct.
3 - I no longer have a Lloyds Bank account, neither do I have the bank account they arranged the partial refund to pay into.
I am  with LTSB for the treatment and service I have received despite the win (will I ever see the money I wonder) and how much will it be? They tried to explain how to figure it out but it would have been a lot easier and less paper if they had written the sum down for me to see the answer.
Do I accept or fight ?

Hi hun
Long time no speak, hope your well and its good to hear from you.;)
Umm a bit of a situation here then?
I would ask them to send you everything in writing and a full detailed breakdown of the PPI, so you know what is what and going where.
Your entitled to request for these, so you can check them to make sure nothing is amiss as well.
Tell them as soon as you have received this paperwork, you will get back to them as soon as possible.
Have they given you a timescale on accepting or rejecting the offer.
I was thinking as well, it may be a good idea to also post this on the above debtfreewannabe thread, where many have gone through the same situation, they may have some advice for you on this matter hun, give it a go and see if anyone comes back to you on this, good luck and please keep us posted.;)XxThe one and only "Dizzy Di"

Hi hun other than the finances I am ok thank you.
Requesting paperwork from LTSB :rotfl: !!!! Never worked in the past and unlikely to now. LTSB loans ever acknowledged receipt of my letters saying never received even though I sent them recorded delivery. Thats one of my grievances.
No timescale for response that I can see.
Will post on DFW also, thanksFailure is only someone elses judgement.
