Good luck with your campaign. Opting out of a Donor Scheme seems a far more
sensible idea when we are short of donors in this country. Both my husband and I are registered and have made our family aware of our wishes.0 -
My feeling with regards to organ donation is that if you would be willing to accept a donor organ to save your life or the life of a loved one than you should be willing to donate your own.
To be frank your body will either be burnt or will rot after death so you may as well use any bits and bobs. I've had a donor card since I was a child and my parents have had cards for years.0 -
My friend Dawn died of CF when she was 21. She'd been admitted to hospital for a lung transplant but sadly died before this could happen. She was such a beautiful person, it broke our hearts.
I've carried a donor card since my early teens, and I do hope this thread will bump up the numbers on the register and raise awareness with families. Once i'm done with this mortal coil, I hope it can help someone else.
Sending healing thoughts that Emily finds a donor, and much healing to Emmie.
Keep well.A Fendi Baguette is not a sandwich.....

Don't flame me, this is just what i have heard (from a number of sources)
That and all the rubish about wanting to bury a whole body
grrrrrr
Any way I have just signed up (always carried my donor card)0 -
I think one or two people do believe in silly conspiracy theories. Doc's don't get commission for organs in the UK me-thinks.
There is obviously a large number of people in the UK whose lives could be saved if more of us signed up. One day you may need the gift of life from someone else.
Can you think of a better use for your body? Interred, burnt, dumped at sea? Make a difference and potentially save another life.
With thanks to all who pledge organ donation.0 -

There are lots of myths out there regarding organ donation.
This site can answer many of those niggling doubts you have and hopefully give you the information you need to make an informed decision as to wether to carry an organ donor card or not.
Please have a look and thank you to all who have already signed up.
