just one thing though - the only time i spoke to the broker was when i arranged the loan at the beginning of 2005 and i don't remember every single word of the conversation just that i wasn't given a choice about the insurance and had to take it to get the loan. do they expect you to remember exactly what was said?
Hi hun
I could not remember everything either, but the fact that this is a Single premium paid within the loan is a claim in itself.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Just to give you an idea of mis selling, check this info on the link here:
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
there is a checklist of mis selling reasons and these single policies - I belive they must stop selling them now with the loan.
Yours was added with the loan and its very costly, and of course the fact that the cover was only just for 5 years, for a loan of say 25 years, it would only cover you for those of 5 years, and yet you would be paying out on the PPI for 25 years, its so wrong.
But check the above link for more information anyway and when you receive the form, let me know and I shall try to help you.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Just to give you an update as I spoke to a guy from FSCS yesterday. I explained that the insurance was taken out alongside the loan and I wasn't given the option to take it or not and was led to believe that it was a condition of the loan. And that they had filled in all the insurance details on the form and even though I was expected to take it I didn't feel it was explained properly to me and now realise that it should have been . He told me to put it all in a letter to them with a copy of the letter I received from e-loan.
He said that they had been investigating them for a couple of weeks. I think he meant e-loan rather than twopart.
I've probably gone into too much detail in the letter but I feel that I've started the process. I assume now that they will let me know whether I have a case or not. Is that what they do or do do they just send you a form to fill in?0 -

Hi hun, thanks for the update.
Yes your right Eloan is that of twopart.;)
Don't worry about giving too much details, it probably helped your case.
With me I filled in a form, but because it's probably the fact they have almost completed their investigations, they asked you to put it into writing and may consider your case this way.
If you want to email them as well to ask if you must complete a form.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

i think what i might do is email over the letter and then send in the post with the attached e-loan letter. might get a response a bit quicker.
am just glad have started the process and will have to see what happens i guess.0 -
