Buying a Beko am I mad?

It took a barrage of phone calls before they even actually listened to me
I don't think it's fair to blame Beko for this, dealing with the customer about faults is the retailer's responsibility.
FWIW when we looked at cookers there were only two models that fit in the space we had - Beko and Belling. The quality of materials on the Belling was awful so we went with Beko, which isn't brilliant but much better. Too early to comment on reliability.0 -
I've had a beko fridge freezer for about 8 years and cant fault it. Build quality looks a little cheap in places but you get what you pay for.
At work we use a large number of Beko electric motors (sold under a different name) for industrial applications and have had very few failures.0 -
Had a cooker for 8 years - still fine.
Fridge freezer for 5 years - still fine.
Washing machine for 3 years - still fine.
Guess its just down to what you need (ie basic appliance or one with extra bits and possibly better looking - if you know what I mean!)
Mine have all served me and my family great but as mentioned by someone before they are often basic looking but do the job.
So far, so good for me.0 -
We got a BEKO 32" LCD TV about 4 months ago and it is great, equally as good as any Samsung or Sony we looked at. But much cheaper, also it came from John Lewis and they are not known for selling items that are likely to comeback and bite them on the bum!! As was said earlier I think they have a bit of an image problem, but as long as you buy from a shop that has good customer service then you should be fine, remmebr your contract is with the shop not the manufacturer!0

my mother has had 2 fridge freezers in the last 5 years
both were beko- both packed up and were unrepairable
she's now got a hotpoint
so i personally wouldn't touch them0 -
Thanks for your replies its given me some food for thought. I think I might just risk it. It seems that most of the mid priced cookers the likes of Belling, Hotpoint etc don't have a great reputation either. I'm not keen on Zanussi as I had one of their washing machines and that was rubbish. So unless I spend lots of money which I can't really afford on a Bosch or Smeg I might just as well go with the Beko.
Will let you know how I get on0 -

Had a beko tv the word Beko is a dirty word in our house now it was total rubbish ,the reason we got it was because it was cheap. I have since learnt the lesson of false economy.
Ironically we got a Zanuussi washer some 6 years ago after a recomendation from my Father and its perfect.0 -
It just shows you how everyones opions vary. I swapped my Zanussi washer for a Miele which I bought on the Comet Clearance site, when you could still get a bargin. That was six years ago and I love it.0
