Buying a Beko am I mad?

I'm thinking of buying a Beko freestanding electric cooker model no DVC665S which suprisingly is a "Which" bestseller. I know Beko have a pretty dire reputation so I was wondering if anyone out there had a good word to say about them, or if anyone has a Beko cooker. Alternatively could anyone recommed a good 60cm double oven freestanding cooker

Can't comment on their cookers, but we had a Beko fridge freezer that went on for years, couldn't fault it.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

I have a Beko freezer too, and it must be at least 10! The handle has discoloured slightly, but it's working perfectly.

We had a Beko 38" TV a few years back. It was great, really was. Judging by other comments, they seem to be the Skoda of the home appliance industry. Rock solid, just with a PR issue :)

Their PR is not helped by the fact that Beko is a Brand of a Turkish Company called Arçelik which itself is a subsidiary of Koc Holdings!

Good evening: I suspect in many homes Beko is a 4 letter word...not a brand I would consider. I remember andrew-b posting about his Beko trials and tribulations awhile back.

A cheap price doesn't always equate to value for money.;)

When i went into comet after my belling cooker finally died and they wrote it off and demanded complete honesty on what is and is not going to go bang, and he said stay away from beko, belling, and indesit.

I've got a zannussi 60cm double oven and its great. It actually gets hot!! this was only a couple of months ago so will still be on comet website

I've had a Beko fridge/freezer and freestanding cooker (solid hotplate) for 9 years now, with no problems except the bulb in the main oven light has just given up the ghost! Previously had fridge and freezer with no problems too

Did have to buy new control knobs for the cooker, thanks to drunken ex leaving a pie in the oven for hours and scorching the originals...
