texting to landlines & 1899/18866
I discovered this by accident, I didnt reaslise you can do this. We you receive a text on your landline the phone rings and then reads out the message. Brilliant!
After readinf information on this website, I have ditched my telewest monthly £15.00 a month (where you can make as many local or national numbers per month) and have signed up with 1899/18866. I am really impressed and its saving me at at least £10.00 a month. with local calls you just pay a connection fee of 1p or 3p. Superb

If you have a BT line you could connect to TalkTalks' Talk2 plan which would allow you to call othe UK landlines free during eveing and weekends for a year, for free! You can still use 18866 & 1899.
