Just got a letter from the halifax, and a bit confused...

Hi guys, just received a letter from the halifax saying that they've paid a transaction for me, but it's put me over my overdraft limit by £27.38. What I don't understand is this bit of the letter:
"To cover our costs, we make a charge of £30 (maximum 3 charges per day) for any item we pay when your account is overdrawn in excess of any agreed limit. We will take this money from your account seven days from the date of this letter. If this causes you to have an unauthorised overdraft, we will also charge you interest at the unauthorised rate, and a monthly unauthorised overdraft fee of £28*. However, if your unauthorised overdraft is £30 or less the unauthorised overdraft charge will not be applied."
My o/d is £1250, and am currently sitting at -£1277.38. Does this mean they'll only (!) charge me the £28?
Thanks for any help you can give me. cheers

they will illegally charge you the £28 at the end of next month. If by the end of THIS month you are still overdrawn by the £27.38 then a further illegal charge will be applyed.
I suggest you go to the halifax, and tell them you do not understand and is it possible they can refund as goodwill. They will do this(if you have not had a goodwill with in the past 3 months)
If they refuse or that you can take them to court over the legality. See HERE to how i done. Also the link in my signatureNever do things tomorow when you can do them today.0 -
from my reading of it they say they will take £30 in seven days time, this will then knock you over the £30 'grace amount' of the unautorised overdraft so they will then add another £28 charges plus interest on the overdraft. Even if you have to take the £30 hit for now make sure you aren't more than £1250 overdrawn before the £30 is taken.0
