i think it couldbe all of the above ...i am totally covered in bites now some deff coming into the room as i woke up with more than i went to sleep with ...had heard that they dont like aircon so have had mine constantly on since we arrived ...i think i must be too tasty for them though ...they will brave the cold for a taste of my blood lol

well went to auschwitz today ...thankfully the souvenir shops wernt selling much tat it was mainly books and videos and dvds which is bad enough but it couldve been alot worse ...right if anyone is thinking of going the cheapest way is to get the bus at the terminal for 2.50 each way (140km in total so very good) at approx 1.30pm as auschwitz is free after 3pm ...before 3pm you have to pay 33zl which is about 8.25 that includes both tours and the bus between camps ...deff go to birkenau it lets you understand the scale in real terms rather than pictures.... it is a very worth while visit but what i will say is you know how you hear stories and you think i dont know how i am going to be etc ...yes i was horrified at the enormity and the suffering but thankfully i wasnt nearly as effected as i thought i would be ...it is worth a visit and is a very important part of history ...

hubby and i went to dinner after and discussions took place ...how could people let that happen etc was what he kept asking ...i reminded him that thngs similar (though not on the same scale ) have happened more recently yugoslavia, cambodia ,rwanda etc ...i could see his wee head working that out ...then i added and when you think of it that is what is happening right now in iraq afghanistan sudan etc and yet people are letting it happen ...a place like that certainly gets you thinking
.... he was thinking also how could those soldiers do that to other humans ..so i gently explained that the soldiers didnt see them as humans ...so thought they could treat them as inferior beings ...kinda like the way we treat our battery hens ...the soldiers looked on these people as animals.. it was a very thought provoking chat ....

ok what to report ...went out to the town last night thought we would have some polish food (seeing as how we are in poland) we did the whole look for the students down and outs etc and came across this place ...it was incredibly cheap i had beetroot soup and some mushroom thing ...hubby had meatballs and groats ...ugggg not nice i have to say ...very cheap but not for me ...we then went to a pub or two looking for rock music ...we had heard of two that were rock went to the first ...if you think fergal sharkey's a good heart is rock and macho man is rock you wouldve been in your element...we then went to another one which was rock but it was so crowded they had squeezed in atleast 3 times the amount of people the place could comfortable hold ...so we said ok back to fergal ...when we got there the music had changed to techno rubbish ...now we wernt the only ones disappointed others (long haired biker types) had came down looking for rock they left sharpish ...i lasted one drink and couldnt take any more my head was hurting so we left and round the corner was a place called the lizard king

if your ever in krakow and want an okish night this is the place to go you pay 10plz (2.50) to get in and the drinks are a bit more expensive but there is a live band who wernt too bad ok they really shuoldve stuck to singing in polish (sounded great when they did) cause when they sang zz tops gimme all your loving they wanted all your hugs and kiddies too ...

some people seemed to be having the time of thier lives really enjoyng themselves ...i was stone cold sober however ..and lets just leave it at that ...
tried to get a taxi home the guy wanted double what we had paid the other night so we thought we would walk it home ...but eventually got a taxi further down for the same price ...

saving money wise not so great a night ...food wise uggg ...entertainment not so great ...however another day beckons and i think we will head out for a walk ....

we seem to be really on top of the spending to such an extent that i have 400plz (100) a day for the next two days and not a kick in the backside for the day we leave .... so you can do poland (krakow anyway) for very cheap ...and believe me i can spend money on holiday ...think i am one of the few that can go to africa (The Gambia) and spend over 100 a day ...so if i cant spend it here it must be cheap ...
