Nunny dont u get letters all the time? Theyve been sending me them since I was 18 and have all been ignored. I dont fancy having other people putting things up there... its ok when its me or OH but a stranger?! lol0

Not had a letter about it at all and I'm 24 now. My SIL2B works in my doctors though, so I'll get on the blower to her to ask when I need oneSealed Pot Challenge Member 1216 -

Ladies...why are we not having smear tests??? I don't mean to be shirty about it but your not being very responsible towards your own health. Knowing several people who have been caught early and cured and one who wouldn't go because it's embarrassing and is now dead - I think smear tests are necessary!
Yeah they aren't my fav event, but it's once every 3 years for most. What happens if it turns out you have a little one and then either whilst pregnant or not long after having little one you find out you have cervical cancer which has spread too far. How would you feel knowing you could have prevented it?
Sorry for being so dramatic and shocking but I feel it's VERY IMPORTANT! Trust me, it's over very quick. Besides, you have a baby and you'll have half the worlds population starring/having a route round up there (so my sister says).Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

Sorry...just read that back and it sounds awful. But I honestly can't understand why people would rather burry their head in the sand. If nothing else thats one thing Jade Goody has done for us - the screening up take has shot up. Please, please go.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

Just been reading this page and they say no reason for someone under the age of 25 to have a smear.
I totally understand where you're coming from twinklie, I haven't got a problem with going and having one, but I asked one of my previous doctors to book me in for one as my mum and nana both have had abnormal smears and he said there was no needSealed Pot Challenge Member 1216 -

Yeah they changed the rules so people under 25 don't have them in England. Used to be 18 though - I've been going since 18. Sorry Nunny I didn't realise you were only 24. Our posts must have crossed.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

As for me, CD5 here nothing to report aside from a very teary-hormonally-emotional weekend which culminated in me freaking out and crying at the snozone looking like a total muppet. Hey ho. Life's pretty trying as a woman sometimes..
Good luck Emmzy that sounds horribly unpleasant!! Yes smears are pretty horrid but Twinklie is perfectly correct they will seem like a lovely day out compared to what happens when you have had the baby. TMI but DS was 9lb 81/2 oz and I tore pretty badly - everyone and their mate had a look afterwards (we were quite the freak show in hospital especially as I had him in about 45 mins:rotfl:) and what the consultant did to me at my 12 week check up bordered on assault and still makes me tighten certain muscles when I think about it  I only say cos I know it won't put anyone off, we're all too far down the road to go back now!!
On a lighter note, jealous of your hols too confuzzled, Vegas is fab (think I may have already said but don't forget the Italian in New York New York)!! We may have some sun in October with a trip to Portugal but that's looking a bit unlikely now. Want to take DS to Disneyland Paris next year but it's so expensive!! Will def go to Spain again with parents next year but would like to book something now cos looking forward to it and planning is the best bit!!0 -
emmzy I didn't realise you were only 23 as well. Not sure if it's a compliment or an insult but you both come across as older in your posts. :rotfl:
Its just a subject I'm particularly sensitive about. Mother induced touchy subject. I have since climbed down from my high horse! *ahem*Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25
