Hi All, I've just found out I'm 8wks pregnant yesterday, and thought I should join the group.

I'm on a DMP so I'm panicing about that a little at the moment but have posted on the main DWB forum, so hopefully someone will give me some useful advise, or tips.

Due on the 21st March 2009, kinda excited , but more worried and scared! My OH is ace though ;-) Martin this website rocks!

    :T

Well, the raised mattress idea didn't do a thing for my heartburn. In fact, if anything, last night was worse than ever.

I think I have figured out how Gaviscon works though. You are concentrating so hard on not bringing it back up that you forget about the heartburn. What truely vile stuff. I think I will stick to the milkshakes, I might buy some ready made today just to sip in the night rather than having to come down and make some up which would almost certainly wake me up too much to get back to sleep.

    xxx
try mixing the gaviscon with some milk. its easier to drink it that way.

we are with CCCS as well. when i rang them they said that there will always be some money spare and not to worry (easier said than done) as even if you canonly pay alittle very month its better than not paying anything at all.

    Hello ladies,

HUGE congratulations to Tia and Hypno. Good to hear that both your babies are doing well, Tia hopefully your lil' lady will be out of scbu soon and Hypno hope your in your quiet room soon to get some well earned rest.

Welcome to creditwreck too - you've found a very friendly helpful bunch here, their all fab!

Beenie - congrats on definate team pink! Another one to join 'my' side! (I only say 'my' side because in my family in past years we've had a glut of boys after years of girls and were definately due another girl to spoil rotten!)

Aless - my thoughts are with you, I cant really add to what all the others have said but we're all here whenever/ if ever you need us. Have fun at the mamas and papas store, theirs one near me and I darent go because the stuffs all too lovely and I might get too tempted!

Lil' Miss - huge hugs, we went through something similar a few years ago in our family and its an awful time. There are no right words, all you can do is be there when needed and sometimes thats the most painful.

I picked up my bundle of baby clothes last night, oh my word I wont need to buy anything for the first 3 months at least! There were 165 items including snow suits, full outfits, dresses, jeans, vests, cardigans and babygrows and 7 pairs of shoes for £40. :j:j:j It took me all night to go through everything, loads of pieces still had the tags on and most of it looks hardly worn and is all good makes like next and mothercare. Im so chuffed as the prices in the shops freak me out  (Thanks everyone for telling me to buy them the other day, not sure really why I was hesitating )

And Im picking up my carrycot tomorrow for the pram, another bargain as only £40 instead of £180 new and its only been used 6 times :j

Sorry Ive waffled on so much, must try to post daily then I dont need to cram loads into one :o

    Hi everyone ... just updating.

Molly Elizabeth was born by emergency C section at 8:15pm on Tuesday. She's 50cm long and weighed 3.27kg or 7lbs 3. She's gorgeous. Pictures will follow.

We're just home, doing really well and she's a champion feeder. She's already gaining weight and raised blisters on one side with a perfect, midwife-approved latch.

    What did I miss?

Hypno - He looks so tiny! He's adoreable. Hope you get your room sorted. Theres nothing worse than being in a ward- There so noisy! (and thats not even the babies!)
SJ - Thats one of my favorite films, i watch it all the time. The bit when he's holding his dog gets me. Cant believe how far Will Smith has come since fresh prince of bel air!
Harley - You tried sucking the tablets and not taking the medicine? Just a thought or try milk if you havent done already. I had tons of heartburn with the boys pregnancys but not with this one.
Tia - Glad that your lil one is feeding from you. Any thoughts of names yet? Sorry if i've missed you say it.
GISI Glad you feeling better today
EDIT CARLA Grr i cant see facebook!!

This thread seems to be having a run of bad news / hard times at the moment including what went on with me. Positive vibes / winning lottery vibes for later, labour vibes / coping with stress vibes and oddles of happiness to everyone who needs them ! ( i just want everyone to be happy)

Had my sweep today so fingers crossed now. M/w booked an induction for the 14th but doesnt think i'll go that far over.

Hey guys, I got my letter from the hospital today, it says the following:

    Dear ...

An appointment has been made for you to attend the following clinic at the ANTE NATAL CLINIC, Wansbeck General Hospital.

    Consultant .....
    On .......
    Clinic OBSTETRICS

    *IMPORTANT*

In an effort to improve our scanning service to you, your scan will be carried out prior to you seeing the consultant.

**********PLEASE REPORT TO THE ANTE-NATAL DEPARTMENT, 15 MINUTES BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT TIME*******************

Please attend with a full bladder and bring with you a specimen of urine

    Yours Sincerely ......

Is that my dating scan then? my 12 week scan?

The midwife told me at the booking in that she was sending me as a high risk cos back in 2006 I had a womb infection but my notes at the dr's dont say what kind of infection it was, just that it wasnt a sti and that they were giving me antibiotics for it. She said that she didnt think I was high risk, but she wanted them at the hospital to look at my notes there to make sure everything is going to be ok, cos I havent had a problem there since I took the anti biotics. She said I would probably get my dating scan then an appointment for consultant, so I am a teeny confused if this one appointment is both?

How long to dating scans usually take?
