hypnoNu - sending you big 'stop bleeding' vibes so that you can have things done the way you want and get your 07/08/09
Nicki - hope your situation gets better soon :grouphug:
JM - I'm sure there was an exercise you could to try and turn baby - think it was get on all fours and rock backwards and forwards but with your bum high in the air. Think it might have been Skinty that posted it and am sure there was someone who went in to have baby turned as well. It can be done - have seen it on youtube.

If you do find out though, please can you post it, as mine is currently breach, and I want him or her to stay that way! I would hate to accidentally put my body in a position which made it easier for bubs to turn. Not least because my insurers have just written today to confirm that they will pay the difference between a normal delivery and an elective c section if its done for medical reasons not social, and I'm guessing that baby being breach will fall into the former category, and mum being a wuss (albeit a certifiable one) will fall into the latter0 -

People have posted links in the past about home births, but I remember this one being quite helpful: http://www.homebirth.org.uk/homebirthuk.htm
It's also got some bits and links that say a home birth for breech *IS* still possible (http://www.homebirth.org.uk/youcant.htm#19) and you can still request it. The important thing to remember is that no MW or doctor can MAKE you do anything...
There's also loads of links on exercises you can do to help turn a breech baby before it engages...

I guess the main point is don't let MWs/docs bully you into having a hospital birth b/c they can't be bothered to help you. The best thing is to listen to their advice and make your own judgments on what you feel is best for baby. Frank breech is quite commonly still delivered vaginally, so it's not the end of the world. Arm yourself with knowledge and get your OH to help back you up if you've got a close-minded MW.top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

glam was right, the best way to turn them is on hands and knees, head down, bum in the air and rock gently apparently.
p.s. i dont think you are a wuss, i think you are really brave for having another one after what you went through last time.0 -

Good stuff - classic floor washing position, and mine are filthy and can stay that way for the next few weeks! And I don't even need to feel guilty about it...
Thanks for what you said0 -

thanks Aless, i will have a good look through all of those links. i know they cant make me but i dont know if i am strong enough to argue with them and OH has never been 100% for the homebirth anyway (he is scared in case something goes wrong) so he will not be much good at standing up for me when he agrees with the midwives! maybe if i am armed with as much info as poss i will be able to argue my point a little better. if baby is footling breech i definately want to try to deliver vaginally even if it is in hospital.0 -
Thankyou thankyou! I'm going to log off ofr a bit and try and get some sleep, think i'm going to need it but keep the "stay put" vibes coming and i just need to hope my stubborn little man is listening!
I'll be back on later to catch up with everyone!

Did you read those links before you posted them? The following is an excert from the above link.
Your baby is breech (feet- or bottom-first)”
- As with twins, breech birth at home is unusual, but it does happen, as Kathryn's, Bronwyn's, Anna's and Oddny's birth stories show. Nicky also had a breech birth at home, but sadly her baby died, although we cannot be sure that this was a consequence of the breech birth.
Not exactly as encouraging for a home breech birth as your post makes out.
I've never met a medical profession yet that couldn't be bothered to help. I think its more a case of being understaffed, under funded and under pressure.
I think you are right, you do need to arm yourself with knowledge, but don't just see what you want to see on the pro homebirth sites. The reality is the medical teams number 1 priority is to keep mother and baby safe and well.0 -

.
Fingers crossed you can get him to turn chick. I know whats its like having to fight your corner to get your home birth. My ex was always dead against it so i ended up having two horrendous hospital births with DD and DS thank fully my new partner is brilliant and has suported me all the way he only wants what will make me happy and more relaxed about everything.
I really hope everything works out the way you planx
