Morning
As title says ...iam using a lap top my daughter uses her desk top we both use the wireless netgear router.
In september she will no longer need her desk top she is off to uni
we are with AOL for broadband and calls from the landline ( which i use very rarely for calls just for the internet )
I have been with AOL for many years and presume i get a good deal from them ? i pay £10 for my internet & nothing for calls the bill usually works out ( for both calls and internet ) around say £20 pm so alltogether inc the BT line iam paying around £35pm
We both have mobiles which we have good contracts on ( with T.Mobile ) so use these for calls , i also have internet access on my mobile she does'nt.
She is off to uni soon and could do with a lap top and i was thinking off mobile internet for us both
Is this a good option ?
what do you money savers think i was looking at mobile broadband online yesterday and there are some deals where you can get a lap top with the mobile broadband dongle thing ?
Any advice appreciated
many thanks

Forget the 'free laptop' thing, you'l get a low-spec laptop and be locked into a 2 year mobile broadband contract. No free lunch, and no free laptop

anybody any more good ideas ?Resolve not to be poor, Whatever you have , Spend less.0 -
Talktalk (part of Carphone Warehouse) offer broadband and line rental (so you don't need the BT line anymore) for (I think) £18; I pay £3 more and have unlimited free calls too, but sounds like you don't need this. I have been very happy with their service and though they did have teething problems when they launched this offer it seems it was just due to not being able to cope with demand.
Other good ideas - ignore anyone who tries to sell you anything form Utility Warehouse - there are several salesmen on here who use it as a way of getting leads. They appear to be very expensive and employ dodgy sales techniques.0
