I think this is a case of wait and see. After reading the article, it seems microsoft will have a battle on their hands with the google OS which will be free.So it may well be near that price on full release. Also the cheap windows 7 can only be installed on one pc, not multiple ones as is the case with the usual windows OS.0

It'll be ages before Google OS is out and even longer before its in a version that can challenge a full desktop Windows OS.
And Windows is always for one PC only unless you specifically buy a multi-user edition.0 -
This is the retail version not an OEM version. This means that you can install it on different PC's over time, just not at the same time. An OEM version is tied to a computer and can't be moved to a different computer e.g. when you upgrade.0

Will this be treated like other products bought online in advance, where you can cancel the order?
Would quite like a copy of this, but would like to be able to cancel if I find that my PC might not cope!Everybody dies, but not everyone truly lives0 -

Bought the Professional for £89-99
Retail price when released £219-99
Sell for £150-00
£60 profit
No Brainer really
Professional has 2 versions included 64 bit and 32 bit
Profesional can be installed on 1-2 pcs like XP is at present
Only business pc's with licences can be installed on multiple pc's
Normal issue windows has always had a restriction of 1-2 pc's
Google don't work with Javascript so basically not a very good OS even if it may be free.
If you want a free OS use Linux Mint0 -

Thanks OP and other posters.
I have been looking to upgrade to a 64 bit OS, and try windows 7, but didn't want to spend loads on a full version of Vista. I bought a Packard Bell PC last December, a decent spec, for a bargain price (won't do again. I was desperate for a PC at the time!), which shipped with OEM 32 bit vista.
Both versions, have 32 and 64 bit discs included . Can't be bad for that price.
