Refusal to pay PCN parking ticket

Hi

I was issued with a parking ticket by the council PCN.
I am currently awaiting the outcome of the appeal, HOWEVER; I am very doubtful its going to be upheld after contact with them today.
I am now in mind to refuse to pay the ticket.
Please don't judge me, I have my personal reasons.
Can you please just tell me what the council may do as a result of non payment.

Time we took a stand to the council:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Was this an informal appeal or a formal one ?

I wrote to them to appeal.
I refuse to pay, I know I was in the right I was allowed to park there.

Police officers walked passed checking all cars parked there earlier, mine was there, they said its fine with a blue badge.

The council are trying to steal from me, I refuse to pay.

    What is likely to happen?

Why have you started a new thread when the full details of the case are already in the other one?? How are people supposed to know?

Unclear what stage of appeal you are at. PCN may well be cancelled at one of the stages of appeal.

To answer your question, if you ignore or fail to follow the appeal process then the Council may apply to the bulk processing centre at Northampton (effectively a County Court) and issue an Order for Recovery. You have no defence against that (so far) if it reaches that stage.

They then assign bailiffs to collect sums due. They will add their own costs which will mount very rapidly
letters, visits (real or imaginary), clamping, towing, other levying if necessary and ultimatley the sale of your vehicle or goods at less than half their worth.

    Not a pretty situation.

To be honest -- my impression, since it seems anything goes on this forum.
I think you are being foolish. You have attitude and it will possibly cost you dearly. I don't wish that on anyone.
Get off your horse and start thinking of sensible tactics. You are only presuming your appeal will be denied. Despite hints from members here you failed to answer a crucial question that would enable people to properly advise you
did you or did you not correctly display your Blue Badge in the prescribed manner, including a correctly set time clock?

I have had contact with an officer today at the council.
It appears have an investigation of the appeal, the ticket has been passed to a parking services team who are now looking at it.

I have been advised it is highly likely that they will be cancelling the ticket due to an error and HAVE ADMITTED I WAS IN THE RIGHT PARKING THERE!!!!

I take this was verbal contact and not in a more substantial form such as e-mail ?

    Take care !

Yes I spoke to an officer in the unit and they have advised it is being investigated by prking services whom it is believed they are going to cancel the ticket.

Absent a recording of the call then it is meaningless. Just hope that it happens. Keep taking care on this.

I have today received a formal letter from Parking Services at the council.

The letter states that the ticket is now currently under investigation by there team and that within due course they will be contacting me again to update me, they also state the ticket is still held and will carry on being held, in its current state at £35 being the lower end fine.

It also states following advice they are seeking to cancel the ticket after the investigation has ended.

I hopeful I will have the outcome by next week.

I will update you all then

If they intend to cancel it, why don't they just cancel it now?

Probably because that is only an 'interpretation' of the invisible letter.
