Help/advice reconnecting mobile after working abroad??

My son is abroad and arranged for Orange to suspend his contract for 6 months. He is back in September, The six months expires in July. They won't extend it but now after two call centres advisors telling me the number he can call on from Germanyto authorise reconnection, and him not being able to get through, when I phoned today the call centre girl told me he can only reconnect when he is in the uk. He won't be back in time to do that and she said he will then have to pay for the 6 monthsthe contract was suspended and any remaining contract time. This would cost him £200-300 for a phone he wouldn't be able to use as they won't reconnect it when he gets back. Any advice gratefully received. Many thanks.

can do it whilst overseas a friend did it few years ago. But he need to speak to them, normally wont take it from you, even if you have access to account (unless you had the second level addon which unless he requested it would not have it.) He probably cant dial the 150 number, he need to dial the +447973 100 150 from Germany using a landline / mobile to make the call.

thanks for that. i have emailed it to my son for him to try tomorrow. hope it works as dealing with orange is not easy.
