They changed the machines at our local Asda a couple of weeks ago. It's 20p now.

They're a business. They can do what they like - and if they feel that it's a potential revenue stream, then fair play to them. The fact that most other garages don't do free air either should tell you something?

    Their

The books are sitting just there on the floor.

Air is free at every Shell in the country (so I've been told). It certainly holds true thus far.

The unfortunate thing is lots of customers mistreat the equipment, not putting it back in properly etc, and it leads to it getting broken. The 50p charge won't be to make a profit, it will be because they are fed up repairing it and are trying to get some of the money back that they have spent fixing it. I will say thought that 50p is more expensive than I thought they would make it.

It's free at Morrisons when you fill up. They'll give you a code for free air when you pay if you ask. And no they don't "keep that quiet".

Are you sure that Tesco wouldn't give you a code or token when you paid?

I can concur with this..........I have a shell fuel card and have found that the air machine in Shell garages has been free every time!

So you don't have enough money for air, but enough for beer? Are there government plans to close all pubs? Funny, I must have missed the announcement.
