Virgin mobile

Can anyone tell me what the network coverage is like and if they are a decent company to be contracted too?

They currently have the Nokia 5800 (free) on an 18 month contract with 150 mins and 500 texts+ unlimited data for £18

As 02 are not competitive any more and Vodafone for some bizarre reason are refusing me credit Virgin are looking like a good alternative.

i have a virgin contract for my son phone and i really cant fault them, my son had his original handset lost and they were really on the ball blocking the phone and sim and sending out another sim free, also ive had to call a couple of times to quiery the bill and again they are superb running through everything.
coverage is fairly good too, im on 3 and have to hang upside down off the washing line to get a signal but my sons phone seems ok.

Hi, I've been back with Virgin for past two months on a month by month SIM only deal, and all good so far. Have contacted Customer services once , and loads better than 3 in that respect. Only had problems with coverage once, in deepest darkest countryside, but otherwise fine.
PS Paul..any pics of the washing line trick lol?

They are a Virtual Network and piggy back on T-Mobile.

If you are in area of poor signal and want to divert your contract mobile to a landline you cant because Virgin only allow divert to voicemail .

Customer Service is usually pretty good.

can't comment on contract service - been with them for years on p.a.y.g. - but have found their customer service each time I've needed to contact them to be excellent - on the ball advisors and nothing too much trouble. unfortunately their coverage for this area is now poor and will have to change provider.

    Hi Evil monkey,

Although I can't guarantee the outcome we can certainly look into why your credit check wasn't passed by us if you'd like us to.

If you would just send us an email using the 'Contact us' form on the Vodafone website.

When sending it you'll just need to state 'FAO Web Relations' in the subject bar and within the body of the email include the link to this thread and the code FIT135.

Once we've got it we'll get back to you as quickly as we can.

    Thanks,

    Lee

Sorry I applied for the mobile before I saw your reply.

I failed Vodafones credit check because I confused their computer having a house name as well as a number. It fooled your computer as well, however your sales team contacted me over the problem and it was fixed within minutes.

The network coverage is better than stated on your website. So no problems there.

I was however sent a payg sim card with my phone. Though again your sales/service team were quick to respond to the problem and a new sim is on its way to me.

Mistakes can be easily over looked when you are treated well by a company. I would highly recommend Virgin Mobile.

My experience so far with them beats 02 and Vodafone by a miles.
  • Hummmmmmmm..........may have spoke to soon!:(

STILL waiting for my sim card, which means I have had to pay and stay with 02 for a month longer:mad:

So I emailed them to enquire where it is and I got the standard "we'll contact you within 48 hours" reply

Fair enough but they sent me that 70+ hours ago!

I never thought getting a mobile phone (of any company) was going to be such a challenge:confused:
