Explain?
Did things just start to go wrong on there own? Do you recall installing any new drivers or software just before these problems?
Is the hardware overheating? PSU ok? RAM ok?
Edit**
Just re-read your 1st post, goto uninstall progs, tick the show updates box. Uninstall the Windows update from yesterday. See if your p.c goes back to how it was. You can always re-install the update if its not that.0 -
no...nothing is working to sort it out..it's so so annoying...

I dont think this will have any bearing but maybe worth a shot.
Its just to check the XP file system http://www.updatexp.com/scannow-sfc.html
Scroll down to How to use scannow sfc...0 -
My PC has started doing the same/similar thing as yours. If I click on a link from a post in here for example, I cannot click the back button to come back to the forum, I have to Clse it and that just drops me back to my desktop. I have also tried the suggestions posted on here but nothing seems to cure it.
I am also in the mind that this has been caused by an update, so hopefully MS will get round to doing a fix for it. It's already been suggested to me to download another broswer eg Firefox, but I don't really want to go down that road.
RE-INSTALLING I.E. I went to Microsoft site, you have to edit the registry before you can do this as you will get the message that "This is already installed etc etc"

Have a look at Windows security updates today , post No.8 on this forum. Could this be the problem as it happened after you updated0
