I can't speak for BigAndy_79 but I've managed to accumulate 55,000 points this quarter, almost entirely due to Martin's emails and the excellent tips from the members of this forum.
Half that total came from buying all the wine and bubbly for our wedding next year. Other 'extra points' offers have been gained by taking trips down to bulk buy non-perishable or long life products that we know we will use before the expiry dates.
Last week I spent £200 in an hour and came away with 4300 points - all for stuff that we will use. Yesterday I spent £300 and came away with 5400 points, half of those from perfumes. This is in addition to normal shopping.
I've had a Clubcard Plus Card since they started and buy all my petrol and most of our regular shopping from Tesco. I also have a Tesco Credit Card which gets well used every month. Having lots of kids and driving 30,000 miles a year helps!
Tesco are not stupid - they are getting loads of publicity out of this and every time Martin sends out a million emails, a load of people go to Tesco looking for extra points but end up also buying stuff they they might otherwise have bought elsewhere. In addition, you have to sign up to Clubcard to be able to take advantage of the deals so every week they are gaining new customers who they can market with all their offers and deals.
It's a loss leader, but they obviously feel its worth allowing a few of us to make money while they gain publicity and new customers. We all win0 -

It pays to shop around!!
With regard to Tesco's 4x Clubcard Deals:
I cannot see where any adult ticket costs £12 or more, so Tesco's 4x Deals are not what it's cracked up to be.
My advice: If you are able to watch a film before 5pm on a Wednesday, and have credit on an Orange SIM card, then use the 2-4-1 Cinema offer (text tickets cost 35p each) take a friend and split the costs, which will be around £5, so £2.50 each ticket, unless the nearest Cineworld to you charges more than £6 to get in before 5pm (such as the Nottingham branch:eek:), then use the clubcard deal. Last time I used the 2-4-1 deal I got in for just £2.45!!! REAL BARGAIN:T (movie wasnt great though :rotfl:)
At all other times, the £3 an adult ticket is still a very good price, even though it isn't 75% of the RRP as Tesco proudly states!
