[title=http://images2.moneysavingexpert.com/images/dp/wtd_underline.gif]wtd_icon.gif What's this about?[/title]

There's a loophole to make 76p in profit by buying a tub of marg from Tesco as well as get many other goods to pay for themselves. It’s all about bonus Tesco points.

It’s currently offering 50 extra Clubcard points on every £1.24 Tesco Enriched Olive Spread (500g) you buy. Convert these points to Tesco deals and they're worth £2 to spend on magazine subs, RAC cover, days out, jewellery and more; so you're effectively 76p up. Below there’s a list of other similar deals too.

[title=http://images2.moneysavingexpert.com/images/dp/wtd_underline.gif]wtd_icon.gif How does it work?
[/title]
This is all about combining deals. The deals are as follows:

  • Buy a tub of Tesco Enriched Olive Spread (500g) for £1.24 with 50 extra Tesco Clubcard points either online or instore
  • Convert these Clubcard points to Tesco rewards, worth four times the amount - £2.
The offer's available until the 21 July 09. Tesco hasn't confirmed this deal is on but we've nipped down to our local Tesco to check it's on offer.

These follow on from the massively popular Tesco wine loophole which is still ongoing.

There's a number of other Tesco bonus deals on offer at the moment, though not as good as the marg one, and you won't be in profit.
  • Oust All Purpose Descaler3 Pack, £1.50, 46 extra points 34p profit
  • Heineken 6x330ml Bottle, £7.34, 200 extra points 76p profit
  • Marques De Monistrol Vint Rose 75cl, £10.99, 300 extra points £1.01 profit
  • Cathedral City Cracker Cheddar 200g, £1.98, 50 extra points 2p profit
  • Lurpak Butter Portions Multi Pack 6x50g, £1.95, 50 extra points 5p profit
  • Tesco Finest Smoked Drycure Streaky/Back Bacon 240g, £2, 50 extra points Rewards & cost equal
  • Tesco Finest Smoked Wiltshire Cure Back Bacon 240g, £2, 50 extra points Rewards & cost equal
  • Tesco Pure Fresh skimmed, semi-skimmed, whole milk 2 Litres, £1.59, 40 points 1p profit
  • Tesco Wholefood Island Mix 300g, £1.99, 50 extra points 1p profit
  • Tesco Wholefood Trail Mix 300g, £1.99, 50 extra points 1p profit
  • Torres Vina Sol Red 75cl £5.99, 150 extra points 1p profit
Thanks to Supermarket Special Offers for the above list.

[title=http://images2.moneysavingexpert.com/images/dp/wtd_underline.gif]wtd_icon.gif What are Tesco Rewards?
[/title]
They used to be called Tesco Deals, and they can be used to buy days out, RAC membership, magazine subscriptions and more (see Tesco Rewards page).

While each clubcard point is worth a penny if used for instore shopping, and they’re sent out in vouchers of a minimum £1 each quarter. Convert them to Rewards vouchers and they’re worth four times the amount to spend on days out, magazine subscriptions, holidays, gifts, hotel rooms and more.

Obviously the 'loophole' element of this only works if you can use the vouchers for something you'd buy anyway. Otherwise its just a good deal... one other option is if you're a wine connoisseur you can instead trade in 1 point for 2p worth of “Double Up” vouchers (so £18 worth in total), which you can use on more Tesco Wine.

Read the Loyalty Point guide for a detailed explanation of Tesco Points Boosting and how to maximise it.

    Why does this site consistently call these deals loopholes? :confused:

    Is this site and i guess tesco encouraging people to mass buy butter and waste it?

    The 'loopholes' are on items that are perishable.. and most of us wont actually use... so while it is 70p profit per tub bought you'd have to waste literally hundreds of them just to get 70 quid+ profit from this. Add in the cost of the 6 limit per tesco and really its balanced against time and petrol costs.

    Its not a loophole btw... its simply an offer... no 'intelligence required'... Buy item, scan clbucard, pay... hardly a loophole.

    Thay also have an offer just now that if you buy any woman's dress, you get 200 extra points. I got a nice dress for £16, so not a bad offer!

    Noticed in local Tesco that the offer on the Butter has been dropped from 50 to 10 points.

    I am sure Tesco know exactly what they are doing. They just want to get free publicity and get non Tesco customers in their stores, and it works.

    Not sure if they should make these points offers with a specific end date and then reduce the points before the end date??

    :j:rotfl::T

    Total Tesco C/C points this quarter 15100 so far ( £604.00 ) in deals

    How many deals are actually worth 4x the value of the Clubcard vouchers? Not many....so it's wrong to say you're 'in profit'. This is only true if you actually take advantage of a deal which is worth 4x. This really should be made clear in the official post!

    They also dropped the points on Finest sandwiches from 40 to 25 a little while back.
